Top 10 world firearm manufactures?

I have a senior project in my business capstone class and are topic is world firearms. My part of the project is to find the top ten firearm manufactures in the world. So far I all I have been able to find is colt, remington, smith and wesson, izhmash, beretta, H&K, bushmaster and sig. I have not been able to find any listed in order and Ive been pretty much exhausted internet searches. So I was wondering if anybody had any links, personal opinions, and just any info to help me complete a 1 through 10 list of top manufactures of world firearms. Any help will be appreciated.

FN Herstal is a big one you've missed

I can think of many smaller ones that probably aren't applicable.

Edit: Also, consider Izhmash Arsenal, IMI, Beretta, and Norinco.

I have no clue but if I had to put money on it ruger, colt, remington, beretta, and izmash would be my best guess at top five with bushmaster right behind.

Although not getting much military funding, glock has to be in this discussion.

I am assuming you are strictly talking about sales figures.

Marlin used to be high up, like #1. (Maybe US only???)

Today, Freedom Group would be high up that list I would think.

Curious to see what you find out.

You guys aren't aware that the government counts them for you?

You can find annual production numbers for all American firearms companies, its an annual report compiled by the ATF.

They even break it down by caliber and things like that.

ALL registered manufacturers are included, even homesmiths that make a SINGLE gun a year.

There are obviously some big Russian players missing from this list.

Found it. The most recent year available is 2010.

5,459,240 firearms were manufactured in 2010 in America:

That's right, almost 5 and a half MILLION guns made each year.

Freedom Group is hands down the largest manufacturer with Herstal probably right behind them. I'm fairly sure the top 5 go:

3.Ruger
4.S&W
5.HK(since they rolled out of BAE I'm not sure of this)

and in no particular order manuf to consider

and should they ever land another contract: BAE systems

Brazillian guns did make up nearly a quarter of the total firearms imported to the US in 2011, followed by Austria at 15%. It stands to reason Glock and Taurus are pretty far up there world wide.

Wasgoing to say Browning but sinceyou guys have mention FN Herstal I guess that automatically includes them.. Browning could be on the list all on its own though IMHO..
