I just bedded the mount for my rem700 (thanks for the video lonewolf) and ordered a wheeler fat torque wrench so I'd be able to mount my Nightforce to the correct inch-pounds. After ordering I realized the Wheeler maxes out at 65 inch-pounds and one portion of the nightforce rings (ring cross-bolt nut) is supposed to be tightened to 68 inch-pounds. Will it be an issue if I only tighten to 65? In case it matters I'll be mounting a Nightforce F1. Thanks!

I think 65 is plenty, I have the ultra lights and have mine at 45 (max of my snap-on driver), then again I have the lighter NF compact scope which is 19oz. My experience with anything aluminum is to set it and forget it. Over tightening or constant adjustments can gaul aluminum or strip out the threads. The crossbolt is titanium but not the entire ring set.

If in doubt shoot them an email or call them. Their CS is top notch, I emailed them this week about a broken dust cap and the CS guy called me within a few hours and is sending me a new one.

If you do call or email, post their response in the thread.
