I just signed up for the Tough Mudder in Mount Snow VT on May 6th. I am looking forward to it. It will be my first race of any kind I have competed in since I had my 1/2 lung cut out 3 years ago. There are other races similar to the Tough Mudder localy in Maine that I am going to run as well, I also hope to compete in a 12 hour mountain bike race this fall.
So I am looking for any advice on this race like: clothing, shoes (Im thinking my 5 fingers), golves or not, traning advice, ect. Is there any one else signed up for this date? Im starting at 1040 and would like to link up with any other shooters (shoot me a PM). I have also contacted everyone I know to donate money to the Wounded Warrior Project through this event. I hope to raise as much money as I can for this foundation.

I've done two TMs here in Texas, and SSG Rance is right...easily doable. You'll need to be mentally ready to get cold, wet, muddy, and electrocuted, though! Teamwork is important. Some people try to do obstacles individually, but if they'd suck it up and get some help, more people get through it and you don't kill yourself.

Also, this is the kind of event where shoes go to die. Don't take your brand new $200 pair of running shoes. Train in good ones, then run in Wal-Mart specials!

Im running with a partner as a team and we plan on helping each other and will throw a helping hand out occasionaly but we are running to win it! I am a realistic peraon and know that I proably will not win but am running it like I will. I hope to at some point finish in the top 5% and qualify for the ulitmate mudder 24 hour!
