Toy Bubble Gun Threat

Re: Toy Bubble Gun Threat

If it saves just one child's life it's worth it...

Of course actually protecting children is absurdly expensive and to suggest it, seriously, reveals a lack of intellect.

But if it saves one child's life, it's worth it. Except if it means actually saving them.

I think I have it now.

Re: Toy Bubble Gun Threat

My 10yr old son was suspended last year after he took a airsoft pistol to school, it was clear plastic with orange muzzle. He received a 2 day suspension, this kid gets 10 days for suggesting something and doesnt even have it with her, and a psych evaluation? This country is going to shit, and fast!

Well, if she is deemed a terrorist (i.e. enemy combatant), they can take her to Gitmo without trial. Soap is nasty stuff, especially if it gets in your eyes or mouth.

Ladies and Gentleman, I hate to break it to you, but if your child is in the public school system they are likely being indoctrinated in everything you despise. If you think the kind of idiocy in this story is limited to this one school then I have a bridge to sell you. I know the economics are difficult in some cases but please...if you want to prevent the kind of crap in the OP's link and worse, if you want your child to be a critical thinker instead of a sheep, then please consider homeschooling your kids. It isn't as hard as you think, and believe me your public school isn't as good as you think. PM me if you want to learn more about it.

My shooting buddy had his 7 year old granddaughter suspended for a day. She was in a free time and drew two squares on a piece of paper. When the teacher asked what they were she said she was playing cops and robbers and they were the guns. That got her kicked out of school for a day. ZERO TOLLERENCE

The real danger to this episode is not even her future attitude towards guns...it is her compliance with the "thought police" even when what they are doing doesn't make sense. After a few hundred times she will go along to get along. They are developing a mindset as much as they are "values". I'd be surprised if the mindset or values are the ones you would prefer for her.

While my kids still attend public school, it is a rural school district. The schools here still say the Pledge of Allegiance and have a fairly heavy church influence. Even with these factors my wife and I still keep track of what they are learning and what is being conveyed to our kids. Our good friends have pulled their kids out of the public school system for the very reasons you mentioned. They found a charter school that is much more to their liking and way of thinking.

As for the bubble gun incident, absolutely rediculous. I would be fighting the school with everything I could just as this child's parents are.

Re: Toy Bubble Gun Threat

I don't think that will have much of an influence on her. He takes her out to the gun clubfor the junior program. There she shoots 22 rifles outdoors in season and airrifles indoors in the colder months. She shoots better than her sister who is 2 years older. They both shoot bows also. Grandpa keeps on them.
