I've been checking out my options on 34mm rings and found some interesting options out there. At the moment I'm debating between TPS and Seekins. I have used TPS in the past and am rather found of them. I think they make a good solid product.

From what I've been reading the general consensus is that Seekin is the better of the two. But the information that I can't seem to find is the why. I know Glen and his company have earned their reputation and make quality products. But what makes them better then TPS?

Re: TPS rings

Longshot38,
TPS makes some good rings, but they have also made some bad one's. Their QA is sometimes spotty, and there have been problems in the past, especially when they had more orders then they could fill, and rushed production. Though I do have a pair of TPS 35MM rings that have been trouble free.

Seekins on the other hand has been very uniform in quality, always excellent. Hard to get sometimes, because they are popular, but they never rush out a less than outstanding product.

YMMV and IMHO

Re: TPS rings

I have seen machine tollerance inconsistencies with TS rings in the past, never used their bases so I wont comment on those. Other than that, I have also been fairly pleased with the service provided by TPS.

With that said, Seekins Precision rings and bases, all his products for thst matter, are top shelf. A note on service, one talk with Glen and you will know. There is something to be said for contacting the manufacturer and ending up talking to the owner, that makes the product, that has his name on the product, you get the idea.

Re: TPS rings

I ve had a bunch of TPS rings and have never seen anything subpar from them. They did have a run of bases where the last screw hole wasnt lined up exact. They did however exchange any that people would return.

TPS did have a real bad problem with keeping up with demand. And Customer service lacked for a while. Hence this is where I think any bad reps came from. A lot of people couldnt get into contact with them.

Re: TPS rings

I have never delt with Glen, but what I see and read on the hide is nothing but good things, and coming from many of these guys that speaks volumes. I do however use TPS rings and bases and have never had a problem with either. I also found their customer service to be great. Either way you go I am sure you won't have any problems.
