Transitional Shooting Question

Not sure where to put this, so here goes:

In the early 80's I had RK procedures on my eyes to correct nearsightedness. To make a long story short, my vision now fluctuates during the day ans into the evening. My vision in my left eye is vastly better than the vision in my right eye (especially through a telescopic sight). I am right eye dominant and have been a right handed shooter all my life, but I am considering trying to teach myself how to shoot from my weak side.

Anyone ever do this? Any advice on how to proceed, such as dry fire practice drills? I'm just curious if any of you may have encountered the same situation.

My advice is not to do what you want to do. It will strain both eyes and thwart motor memory development. And, what would be the point? If a scenario comes about which forces shooting from the shoulder of the non-dominate eye, the only issue will be re-building the position consistently, which, outside of some competitions, is not particularly important. Since I lost vision in my left eye I now shoot from the right shoulder I had no problem with sight alignment and trigger control, only re-building the position consistently for LR has there been a problem. I do not sense yet when the position is muscularly relaxed.

I appreciate the response. I would not attempt to change from right to left for hunting or general shooting, etc., but imagine putting a fine film of oil on your optic and it will give you an idea of the difference in the clarity of the reticle and sight picture.
