Gathering parts for a 6 ARC build and looking to go ahead and get on the list for a barrel since some options are showing long lead times. I do want to spend decent money on a good blank and skip the ballistic advantage or faxon options. Im sure I could have decent luck with those but im looking to go a tier above those. So far Centurion, Craddock, and maybe Proof have caught my attention. Looking to be at least 18” but I would like a 20”-22” to take advantage of velocity. This upper will mainly be a thermal gun, I will handload ammo and run it suppressed 100% of the time. What say the Hide?? I have been eyeing the Craddock RTR series barrels the most since they are on the shelf.

I keep buying ER shaw barrels with the change I find in my couch, and they keep giving me groups that are the limits of my shooting ability. I have .25 moa AR barrels from shaw that bought on sale for less than $200, chambered and threaded. You can spend as much as you want, but it probably won't shoot any better.

You've brought up all good alternatives. I tried to source a Proof recently and couldn't find on in stock. Have many of them and they are a great option. Talked to a manufactured and they are backordered with proof for over 3 months.

Noveske makes an SPR 18" stainless barrel with pinned low profile gas block, rifle length gas tube and pin. I've bought several over the years. Not on the low cost side of things but less than others and all have hammered. I don't think you'll have much problem dialing in a rifle length gas system, even with a non-adjustable gas block. Watch buffer weight use if using a standard spring set up. 2-3 more OZ on the buffer can help dial in these intermediate rounds.

Rainier arms carries a series of "match, and ultramatch", barrels that might be considered as well.

My Craddock RTR 6ARC barrel has been shooting tiny groups. Very happy with it. Shot better than I expected
I was heavily leaning toward a Craddock RTR or their custom barrel and just went the PVA route on a whim. We will see how it goes but im sure it will shoot fine for what im going to do with it. On any AR platform I shoot for any relative precision, if im holding .75 moa groups regularly with it then im pleased.

What’s your barrel set up? I am in the market for CF 6arc barrel . 14.5 or 16. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving

I went with their bull profile in 20 inch, 5R rifling and 1:7 twist. Here's a short video about it and some shots (unsuppressed and suppressed) down range. The 100 yard groups really weren't representative of it's typical results because I was really cold. I initially bought 250 rounds of each of the factory Hornady 105 and 108 ammo. After shooting nearly all of it over various days spread out over a year or so, I believe this rifle prefers the 105. Hopefully will do some load development soon. Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm really curious how their AR-15 barrels shoot, but there seems to be almost no reviews.
Thats kinda why I was kinda on the fence about buying the PVA. But, I know that they wouldn’t put something out subpar intentionally and even if I do have issues with it im sure they will take care if me. According to them i should have it in several weeks but unfortunately it will probably be a few months before I really start shooting it and gathering data.

Did you get the PVA barrel up and running or still building out?

Just got the shipment notification yesterday and according to UPS should have it Monday. Hopefully have everything together and get the first shots through it by next weekend.
