I just recieved a TRG-22 used the other day, which I LOVE. However this damn european rail is driving me nuts! I know most rifles may come with a HK hook adapter on the front for sling attachment but mine did not. I have looked at TRG's at my gun stores and they also have no adapters located in the front side rail either.

So the picture attached is what I need, but after 2 weeks of looking I cannot find the blasted thing!! I'm hoping that another TRG owner can help me out.

Re: TRG-22 Sling Adapter HELP!

I recently had this same problem. I had to do the following:

1. Remove the front stock of the rifle. It shows you how to do this in the owners manual; I think page 26 but don't quote me on it.
2. Remove the entire sling mount. There are two screws you can remove once the front stock has been removed.
3. Remove the rail that was attached to the sling mount. I had to unscrew it then take a torch to it for a few seconds as there was some glue on it.
4. Install a sling adapter. I had a Harris Bipod adapter that I used.
5. Reinstall the sling mount and front end stock.

Hope that helps.

Re: TRG-22 Sling Adapter HELP!

You used a Harris # 6 right!? That is what my final solution is. (i'm in canada and apparently that takes 4 weeks to get........) I'm hoping for a HK adapter because I have a TAB sling enroute

Re: TRG-22 Sling Adapter HELP!

Strange mine came with 2 adapters that you speak of, one for the side rail that was already installed, and one for the bottom. I also had various other types of adapters for all the other different kinds of slings. My last TRG was purchased this Spring and it came with everything.

Re: TRG-22 Sling Adapter HELP!

Yeah I think that is what I used. I have a TAB sling with the swivel attachments and it works really well. If you are buying TAB stuff I recommend getting one of the belts and rear bags.

Re: TRG-22 Sling Adapter HELP!

ah! if you have two you wouldn't care to send one my way!! lol I think I'm gonna contact Sako for parts, I think the new TRG's come with front and rear HK adapters while older style (mine) has a euro rail front end and a quick attach stud on the rear

Yeah I got a bag too! It's in the mail, Do any of you guys have the sako bipod? I'm sure I will take the plunge, but it is always reassuring to hear others blow their money on the same products... lol

You can generally find them "used" here on the Hide, it will save you a few bucks.
I have one and I like it, I also bought it "used"
Enjoy,
