TRG,,, what weight bullets?

Re: TRG,,, what weight bullets?

Although I don't have a TRG, I would imagine you wouldn't be horribly off if you tried 168 or 175 SMK.. both would probably work for long and short range but I'd try the 175 after 500

Re: TRG,,, what weight bullets?

I have had very good luck shooting 178 AMAX and 175 SMK with my TRG22. It seems to shoot just about anything well!

I use 155 Scenar for everything 100 - 1000.

Factory 167 Scenars are very accurate but I have not had cause to use them beyond 300.

Probably no huge suprise given the origin of rifle and ammo.

Re: TRG,,, what weight bullets?

I did that very test in my trg-22. I used 155,168,and 175 SMK's. I used IMR-4064 and Varget powders. At 100 and 200yrds(only 2 distances my range has) the 168's shot better, followed by 155 then 175's. I know this is pretty close range, but no group was over 3/4" at 200yrds. I do 10 shot groups for load testing. So when i visit my father in Idaho I will do the same test in his backyard range. We built a range to 900yrds.
By the way I did that same test with my FN-SPRA2,Kimber Advanced Tactical, and my Rem700P and got the same results. They also liked the 168 SMK. Hope this helps out.
