Hello all,
As title says, tried prone position for the first time ever. When I go to the range, I'm normally sitting down and shooting off a bipod and rear bag or bag and bag. Well, today, I'm not at the range. I'm at my hunting lease and wanted to check zero on my rifle. I focused on a ton of dry fire. I cleaned and cleared an area on the bed of my truck and set a deer corn sack on the open tailgate. I dug the rifle into it and immediately noticed that shooting from the prone position provides a heck of a lot more stability. I felt pretty rock solid. I finally sent one downrange and could not be happier. DEAD ON!!! The only reason why I wanted to check zero was because I tried doing so last week from a less stable position and was not happy with results. My only question and concern is, how the heck do you guys enjoy shooting prone for extended periods of time? I was only like that for maybe 20 minutes and my neck is killing me. Because it was my first time, I'm sure I may not have been 100% positioned well. But I will say that my position felt rock solid and my result agrees vs how I shot last week. I will post pics of my shot and shooting setup lol. Any tips or advice you guys have, I would appreciate.
