Trigger for my remington 700

Alright. I'm putting together a Remington AAC-SD barreled action with an AICS 2.0 stock. Since there's nothing cheap on this damn rifle I thought I'd get some opinions on what trigger I can replace the factory Remington X Mark pro trigger.

I hear Timney and Jewell.

So far the factory trigger I don't think is TOO bad. But no doubt there is better out there. And for a couple hundred bucks I don't mind doing it right.

So what's the general consensus without starting a big pissing match here?

Jewell probably feels the nicest, but I've *heard* they can gum up in the field. I have no experience with that.

I have a Timney on one of my 700's and find it perfectly adequate, it's an excellent trigger and I am happy with it. I have a Remington 40X trigger on another 700 and it too is excellent.

Bring some lighter fluid and flush the Jewell when they gum up and you will be fine.

I have a Jewell in my 700. Needless to say, I will never buy any other trigger BUT a Jewell! They spoil you.....

I have had several Timney's and liked them pretty well. I have a Huber Concepts on a 700 now and love it. I really like a 2 stage trigger on a precision rifle better than a single stage, but thats only part of the reason I think the Huber is much better.

I really like what my timney feels like on my 700 SPS Tac. For 125.00+7.50 shipped home you cant beat that.

I'm thinking of going with a timney. Even though the one I had for an AR10 was a total piece of shit.

So lighter fluid. Why not brake cleaner?

Rebuild the factory trigger. Use a Holland spring kit.
