Assuming the rifle is stabilized with a bipod and rear bag, what are the advantages or disadvantages of placing the thumb behind the trigger guard with the trigger finger on the trigger and pinching the trigger finger toward the thumb to minimize any side pressure on the trigger.

the muscle memory you DON'T get when it comes time to take a real shot in real conditions.

if just a benchrest sort of thing, many of those guys touch the rifle even less than what you describe.

when transferring to a rifle that has real recoil, that muscle memory, grip and shouldering comes in pretty handy.
