I use the Lyman trimmer with Universal chuck holder and it works fine on my 338LM Norma and Lapau cases. I did have to hone down the .35 cal pilot to fit the inside of the necks, but my Dremel tool made short order of that task.

Re: Trimming .338LM?

I'm at my 9th reload and just checked my case length, they are .004 or .005 over SAMMI minimum. I do have both RCBS trimmer and a Sinclair trimmer, but haven't needed them yet.

I have the Forester that mounts in a drill press. A good use for a cheap Grizley drill press. I have 3 under the bench. I leave the 264 Mag and the 338 Lapua set up ready to use.

The Forester is quick and handy.

Re: Trimming .338LM?

I need to figure out if my Lyman is the Universal trimmer or not. It's all yellow and has a large black shell houlder on the left with a lever. It fits a lot of different cases but I didn't accept the .338LM case. I didn't spend that much time on it though.

Anyone know if Lyman made a trimmer fitting the above description that DOES NOT work with .338LM?

That's what I have with the power drill adapter cutting bar pictured at the bottom. That black 'puck' on the left of the trimmer is the Universal Chuck. It accepts the 338LM cases.

Lyman trimmers are either orange or black.

Forster is anodized yellow.
