I’ve read a ton of threads covering my title, however — I’m looking for a basic tripod that’ll get to 72 inches (I’m a little over 6 feet tall) and some type of basic mount that would be best to use with some inexpensive binoculars. I’m just going to use the tripod and binos for spotting targets at distances inside of 400 yards and will not shoot off of the tripod ever.

Thanks

The best basic mount in my opinion would be the polymer RRS Cinch. You need an ARCA clamping base for the tripod.

Cheap tripods are a dime a dozen. Most of us would recommend a carbon fiber one, but I’m not sure you need that. I’ve happily used Leofoto LS series tripods, such as the LS-364C.

The cheap tripods are ok ish, but the Lefoto ones seem to be the best option without going to RRS.

The SA 364c is a pretty nice tripod.

Shooting off tripod will happen someday. It’s so versatile and being able to shoot over weeds and brush will happen if you hunt in the west.

Rrs cinch and a vortex bino to your price point will work.
