  • Actor and filmmaker Sylvester Stallone introduced President-elect Donald Trump at the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) Gala on Thursday with a short and sweet speech in which he called Trump the "second George Washington."

The "Rocky" actor was the final speaker of the night – only talking for about two minutes – before the president-elect took the stage at Mar-a-Lago.

When starting off his speech, Stallone began speaking about his "Rocky" character and how he was "going to go through a metamorphosis and change lives, just like President Trump."

"We are in the presence of a really mythical character. Nobody in the world could have pulled off what he pulled off, so I'm in awe," he said.

I had no idea Sly was on the Trump train.

99.99% of politicians are not fit to suck Washington's nuts. (including almost every other president).

If we had snipers hide during George Washington‘s presidency, you guys would be bitching about the fact that he started taxing whiskey and created the federal marshals.

Not that I’m saying he’s a bad president. But there would be a daily thread about what he’s fucking up and his bar bill.

Probably complain that he didn’t write the second amendment clear enough either.

You should read the book The Swamp Fox, about the dude who the patriot movie is very loosely based on. Talks about guys flip flopping sides constantly, depending on who happened to be “winning” at the time, paying more, or allowing looting. It’s pretty enlightening, we didn’t have a huge number of hard core patriots for the cause as one might think.

I read The Swamp Fox when I was about 12!!! Francis Marion was the Swamp Fox and, yes, Gibson's character was loosely based on Marion.

Yeah... the Revolution in the South was nasty. Very nasty! And was as much a Civil War as a Revolutionary War... with the British fanning the flames on purpose.

Cheers!
