dont have alot of cash and need to reload due to my new upper in 300 whisper, and paying $30/box for good 308 but question is will the $100 lee kit get the job done or is the $300 rcbs kit needed to do goog work?

Re: trying to get started

I use a older lee kit and it works for me. I would suggest getting a better scale. (rcbs 505) You will also need a case trimmer, tumbler (get the walnut shell media you'll like it better than the corn cob media) doesn't hang in flash holes as much. Look at a vld case mouth chamfer and a case mouth outside deburring tool. I would also get a flash hole deburing tool. I use RCBS dies.

But most important is a good reloading manual and give it a good reading. If not sure on something ask SAFTY FIRST ALWAYS. Get a routine down that works for you so you know you don't make mistakes in the powder charging area. ALWAYS WEAR SAFTY GLASSES eyes are important to shooting as you know.

ok now am rambling on but you get the idea.

If you have any questions just ask.

Re: trying to get started

Get the Redding Boss press, a good scale like the 502 or 505 RCBS (Ohaus) with check-weight set, a set of Lee powder dippers, and a Redding trickler. You can speed this processs up by substituting an RCBS ChargeMaster Combo for the scale, dippers and trickler. Wilson trimmer. VLD chamfer. Imperial sizing wax. Sinclair catalog for accessories. Check out Forster's 308 National Match die set. KEET!? CHU DON'T NEED NO STEENKING KEET?!
