Tubb's final finish ?? anyone use it ?

Re: Tubb's final finish ?? anyone use it ?

I have used it on two rifles, both have factory barrels. One is a M-700 in 30-06 and the other is a M-70 in 270 WSM. Before using the system, the barrels were pretty rough. They now clean up like custom barrels. I used the 25 round method on the second barrel, 50 on the first. I believe they initially had a 50 round method but changed the process several years after it hit the market. I hand load all of my hunting ammo and accuracy is pretty good. Dont have any data to compare with factory rounds as far as accuracy before and after. The throat moved only .001-.002. I don't think I would use it on a custom barrel but on a rough factory barrel I would use it again.

I bought the .22 kit here for $20.00
I was going to put 10 of each tru a S&W mdl 41 and 10 of each thru a Anschuts 54.18 .22 rifle.
They have 5 compiunds in this kit and suggest 20 rounds of each theu the pistol / rifle.
Thanks for the info I am going to try 10 of each compound for the rifle and the pistol.

Thanks I will try 1/2 the recommended oin the Smith 41 and the Annie since there .22
these are not custom so I think there will be an improvement . good time to start up the Chrono and get some before and after readings for the hell of it .

Re: Tubb's final finish ?? anyone use it ?

I have used both the Final Finish and TMS bullets with good results.

Most recently i fired all but the roughest grit through my SOCOM-16 M1A which had a pretty rough barrel. Makes cleaning the bore much nicer.

I use the TMS bullets in my Krieger DMR barreled M1A, fire 2 every 200 rounds or so. I'd have to dig out my rifle log but that sounds right haha.

Both FF and TMS do what they say they do. Ive used FF on all of my factory tubes with great results, and the same goes for the TMS on custom tubes. I use 3 TMS every 200-300 rounds on my custom tubes.

In don't see a need for it in a custom barrel and would not use it in one.

I consider if almost mandatory for my factory barrels.
In my experience group size is cut pretty much in half and the barrel cleans up much easier.

Great ROI effect.
