Since I've gotten a lot cooler in the past year or so, I no longer use this fun setup and maybe it's time for someone else looking to get into the NV game to have an easy start.
Complete setup:
Steiner PVS-21 low-profile articulating GP night vision (nothing else like it and used to be $20k)*
Flip up/down focus caps
Norotos Low-Sto mount
Team Wendy Exfil bump helmet (I modified the brim a bit so that the 21s could get really close to the eyes where they're best)
Peltor Comtac headset w/ rail mounts (microphone foam is worn out, but works just fine)
S&S Precision V-Lite Multimode
*note that PVS-21s use proprietary tubes, so you can't easily re-tube these with modern tubes. The tubes are clean but have zero idea what the specs are. Side note: this system is unique because you don't look through the tubes; instead you look through glass beam combiners that project the display into your eyes. This means that you see NV in dark conditions and see normal in bright conditions without changing a thing.
