Benefits of a Two stage trigger on the DD5 V5 vs the Single stage it comes with. Gun is on the way saw the hunter had a two stage. Just curious what people think of the two types of triggers! What are some of the best of both types. Shooting at range to 500 to 800 yards I'm fine with what comes with it but just want to expand my knowledge base. Shout out to Sv_Dude for giving me some great knowledge on scopes and scope mounts. Loving the knowledge I'm gaining!! I still don't know why they only put the 2 stages on the hunter but I suspect that due to intended use, however no hunting rifle I've ever had has had a 2 stage trigger.

From my own point of view A two-stage trigger can offer more control and precision, which can be beneficial for long-range shooting, like your 500 to 800-yard shots. The first stage lets you take up slack before hitting a defined wall, making the final break more predictable. Some of the best two-stage triggers include Geissele SSA-E and the LaRue MBT-2S. For single-stage, the CMC and Timney triggers are top-notch. Shout out to Sv_Dude for the scope advice! The two-stage on the hunter might be for more deliberate, precise shots, but it's all about what feels best for you.

I used SSA-E on my ARs and singles on bolt. No particular reason other than I feel the 2 stage help me get “set” to shoot the gas guns better. Definitely just personal preference and not necessarily factual
The SSA-E is a great choice for ARs, especially for getting that precise feel before the shot. It really does come down to personal preference. The two-stage can definitely help you get more set and focused with gas guns. It's all about what works best for your shooting style and comfort level.

I have two Hiperfires. A 24E in an 18" 6.5 Grendel and an Enhanced Duty Designated Marksman Trigger in a 16" 5.56. Both are single stage. The 24E comes with 3 sets of springs that offer a 2.5, 3 and 3.5lb trigger pull. They do not make the 24E any longer, but the 24C is pretty much the same.

The Designated Marksman is about a 5lb pull, but is a hybrid trigger that is round the top half and flat on the bottom half. I like them both. A 2-stage trigger is likely what you want if you are going to shoot longer range more commonly though.

Really liking these Hipfire triggers.

So the plan is run it on stock Mil spec trigger for about 200 or so rounds then upgrade to a new trigger. Going 2 stage. Lots of great info in here and I learned a lot. Not many people in my area have guns like these or the triggers so I'll have to go to LGS to see what they have and get a feel for them. I have had experience with a flat faced trigger and liked it. However not enough to say that's what I want 100% for sure. Leaning toward a Geissele but will check out all that were mentioned here. Thanks fellas. Will give an update once rifle arrives and I get range time. Went with Leupold mark 5hd 7-35x56 so we will see how it like it also did the Leupold Mark AR 35mm mount.

The Geissele SD-E. it's an SSA-E with a flat trigger face. IMO the best trigger they make. I have owned and own pretty much multiples of every G trigger made going back to the Hi Speed SME and Highpowers that bill launched the company with. I think the SSA-ex is kind of a waste of money when you can get an SD-E for much cheaper. It's also what Geissele puts in most of its super duty rifles.

I'm a two stage guy.
I have 1 Geissele trigger, 1 Rock River NM and 6 LaRue MBT's across hunting & target AR's
I have Tikka's with KRG Midas Triggers for hunting rifles.
My Savage Bolt guns have Accutriggers in them, treat them like a Two Stage as well.
First stage is the blade, second stage makes it go Boom.

SD-E looks sweet that's gonna be on the short list I think but I gotta start pulling some different triggers.
