Rifle Scopes Understanding magnification levels

Does 10x magnification mean an object at 1000 yards will appear the same size as the same object viewed by the naked eye at 100 yards?

If so, does this also mean the angular size of an object at 6x will appear exactly twice that of the same object at 3x?
