Is “1/2 UNF” the same as “1/2x28”?

I have Googled a bunch of thread pitch charts and can’t figure it out.

I am looking to buy a .22LR barrel that has the muzzle threaded 1/2 UNF so I need to know.

No its not the same thread

1/2-20 is UNF Unified National
Fine thread

1/2-28 is UNEF Unified National Extra Fine Screw Thread

I would probably say your looking for the
1/2-28 thread end though,
If it’s for a suppresser?

I’ve never seen one threaded for the 1/2-20 UNF thread

But I’ve been wrong before

Yes I need the muzzle threaded for a suppressor. I have not seen this muzzle threading either. The barrel is for sale in England, which might explain the quirkiness.

In it it's obvious that 1/2 UNF is not the same as 1/2-28

I thought I have read that 1/2-20 is a European thread for .22 rimfire.?

But Yah, after reading this, and doing some online research.
I found that there are UK cans for .22s in 1/2 x20 tpi threading

In my OP I had stated that my question about 1/2 UNF was in connection to .22LR.

FWIW, the barrel that is FS in England is a factory Sako Quad Varmint contour - something that I have not been able to find in the U.S. I have a Lilja for my Quad - in addition to the factory pencil contour barrel - and the Lilja has never shot well, and needs replacement.

But, I don’t want to buy it and ship it here only to have to spend more to have it threaded 1/2x28. The cost of the bbl and shipping is already high.
