Re: cz varmint precision trainer pics very heavy
extractor cutouts on the barrel honestly i can forsee a burr getting started
.861 straight barrel so going up to the lilja .900 may require a little sanding
this is the bolt guide that sits inside the action on the bottom and is held in place with the rear magazine box screw
trigger and sear contact point the trigger pull is long, heavy, gritty and jumpy
the stryker contact is smooth and polished
the inside of the acion is also very smooth no sooling marks that i can see
last and very least the 11MM dovetailscope base
<span style="text-decoration: underline">what i like</span>
the gun balances very well in the hand
the stock is very high quality
the caliber can be swapped out with a new barrel and the correct magazine between 22lr 22 mag 17 hmr
many major parts look almost hand polished
heavy straight taper barrel but not too heavy
torq head action screws
the magazine seems well built and 10 round mags are readily available for all 3 calibers
flat forend for riding a bag
the bolt knob/handle can be replaced with a tactical unit if cz introduces one without the need for a gunsmith
<span style="text-decoration: underline">what i dont like</span>
the cost
the barreled action when in the stock is riding the right side of the barrel channel almost touching
the safety lever is a bitch to engage
the bottom metal is a piece of crap i can buy a good quality replacement from dip but for the overall price of the gun i shouldnt have to and i expected more
the trigger shoe is skinny and has a cast line running down the center it isn't sharp but i can feel it and i'ts distracting
the trigger pull is crap very gritty heavy and long once again for the money i expected more
the 5 round mags fit almost flush but the 10 rounders stick way out having a curve that looks like a ak-47 mag
the forend is so wide that my bipod rotates on it not having any curves to grab onto
the action screws get maybe 3 full threads into the action when tightened up i will have to take some measurements and replace them with longer screws
the magazine housing and barrel set screws are 3 mm allen i would prefer the whole gun have torq screws
closing the bolt gets a little stiff
i am concerned that with the cutouts for the extractors the chamber is going to get a burr
the 11mm scope base sucks the action isnt drilled or tapped so you have to use the correct rings that nobody stocks in 30mm and they are expensive or you can buy a dip dovetail to picatinny base
<span style="text-decoration: underline">cost of the gun</span>
910.00 including tax
85.00 for a dip 25moa base and a aluminium magazine well
200.00 for to send the barrel to chad at longrifles inc price includes threading the barrel for my silencerco sparrow with a o-ring shelf with a custom thread protector s&h and insurance both ways
timney replacement trigger 85.00
total so far 1280.00
if i get barrels from lilja to shoot 22 mag and 17 hmr whenever they come out they are 375 each plus having chad thread them and make protectors i will be above 2k and thats not including a scope yet
would i recommend the gun to a friend - NO
what would i recommend - cz 455 varmint
