Sidearms & Scatterguns Upgrading a Sig 229

I just acquired a Sig 229 and want to install a short reset trigger (SRT) and possibly upgrade the OEM sights. I've only been able to find two SRT kits for the 229: Sig and Grayguns; is one obviously the best choice? Is there another option?

Regarding the sights, I used a sight pusher to move the front sight post to bring point of impact to the point of aim vertical line, but at 7 yds, I'm consistently shooting 1.5" high. Is it possible to adjust the hieght of the front/rear sights? If so, I haven't found it. Any recommendations on a good night sight set that can be adjusted without using a sight pusher?

I appreciate the help

If you look at the sights, you should see a 6 or 8, I forget which is correct or the height of them, you either need a taller front or shorter rear. Sig normally uses a "combat" hold, by chance are you leveling off the dots vs the actual outline of the front blade?

Now that I think about it, I was leveling the front/rear sights and didn't pay attention to the dots. I've put ~150 rds through it and it groups pretty well. After ensuring I was pulling good shots, I moved to a lollipop sight picture (6 o'clock) vs center mass and still was 1.5" high.

I'll see what # front post I have and investigate a relacement.

Thanks for the advice

For the Sig's their sight picture adage is "float the FRONT SIGHT dot, break the shot"......Sight Picture # 3 for Sigs.
Any adjustment of sight #'s, the rear sight is changed FIRST.
The P226 / P229 ; every 0.007", i.e. 0.2 millimeters, ( the thickness of an index card) height increment changes Point of Impact ~ 1" @ 25 yards.
The same is true for rear sight windage adjustments.
