Re: urgggggggggggggg ebay!!

File a complaint with eBay. Call them and get info you should be able to get your money back if the transaction was done with PayPal.

Re: urgggggggggggggg ebay!!

Yeah not always that easy. If there is no money in their payPal account then you are screwed, and you can bet that money is LONG gone.

One day people will stop using eBay, and spend a bit more for a reputable transaction. Not to mention about 90% of the products on eBay is chinese counterfeits.

Re: urgggggggggggggg ebay!!

I just picked up a M14 from a guy who needed money, and it had a Reupold mark 4, that he paid 600 for on ebay. It says its a leupold but it a fake. at least I caught it and didn't pay for the scope. there is way too many fake products out there, and I only go through dealers I trust.

Re: urgggggggggggggg ebay!!

I had this happen to me once and instead of going through eBay, who was of absolutely no help, I contacted my credit card company, explained the situation, and they stopped the payment. I got all my money back on my card. It's worth a shot.

+1 -- this is the reason I ONLY use my credit card for internet transactions.

Re: urgggggggggggggg ebay!!

definitely call his local pd, and fraud across state lines is a federal offense also. Did you pay paypal straight from your bank account or with a credit card. If with a credit card, call your credit card company and they should take care of it.

yeah, ebay and paypal's policies are a joke now. I've been on ebay 10 years and never had problems up until the last year or so. Now I have problems with buyers and sellers, and their is so much chinese crap, duplicate auctions that waste time when searching, and tons and tons of overseas auctions that are counterfeit or just plain junk.

Bullshit. I have spent thousands of dollars on eBay and nothing I have ever purchased turned out to be counterfeit.

Furthermore, if you haven't left feedback for the seller, he CANNOT receive your money until you've given him positive feedback.

Re: urgggggggggggggg ebay!!

I've purchased some high-end photography lenses on eBay and have never had a problem. the last transaction I did, like an asshole, I paid for it out of my bank account instead of my credit card - I'll never do that again. Nevertheless, for reasons that don't matter, the transaction went belly up on the seller's side. I demanded a refund and got it within 24 hours. I then got an email from PayPal saying that his account refused the refund. I called both eBay and PayPal. Long story short: I filed a complaint against the guy, I got a full refund.

As others have said: do NOT use the "gift" option. First, it's against PP's TOS and arguably you lose all, I mean ALL, recourse should the transaction go awry. Second, why the hell would I give a "gift" to somebody I don't know - YMMV, but I won't do it.

HTH,

Re: urgggggggggggggg ebay!!

Ebay has become very sensitive to adverse publicity. Call their INVESTOR RELATIONS DEPT and follow up with a letter. They should go out of their way to help you. Remember they don't know who you might know....like a relative/friend at the WSJ! PM me if you have trouble getting a name and number.

Almost. I have sold some stuff on eBay and you can get your money one of two ways. Either the person leaves positive feedback and it shows up or you wait a set number of days (think it was 10 days) from the date of transaction. If that was the case some people would never get any money as not everyone decides they want to take the couple of seconds to leave feedback.

Wait a minute when did ebay start instituting a "feedback before you get your money" policy? I have sold many things on ebay and not everyone gives feedback but I always get my money in my paypal account right away. I can transfer the money out of my paypal account right away if I wish.

Re: urgggggggggggggg ebay!!

One of the reasons when I sell online I always use a USPS money order and tell them they must mail it usps mail. Anything goes wrong on either end its postal fraud and a felony.

A year or two ago. Not long. I bought some stuff and got a 'nicey-gram' telling me about the policy. "So, if I WAS satisfied, no hurry. Just take the next 6.4 seconds and fill out the feedback so he could get his money."

I think it's a better way of keeping the scammers at bay.

not necessarily... they have something like a 30-60 day wait time if they try to withdraw cash from their paypal acct... they can however take that money and spend it on other ebay items kind of like a line of credit on ebay... if they do this, i'm sure the the guys acct would still be open... i would contact ebay customer service asap, give them the auction number, and see what happens.

Re: urgggggggggggggg ebay!!

Paypal isn't instant to your bank account when you transfer funds, but it is pretty quick. I get mine in 2-3 business days. I've never had a problem on Ebay with the use, or with Paypal. I've used it mainly for car parts or electronics. Sorry everyone hasn't had the same luck with it. I'd contact and start the process like others have suggested. Nothing ventured, nothing gained...

Leaving feedback makes no difference on the seller getting the money.

I have over 5k transactions on evil bay as a seller and buyer, 100%+ feedback and I've only encountered a few scammers. If I buy anything over fifty bucks I use a CC so if it goes south I can do a reverse charge with the CC co.

Re: urgggggggggggggg ebay!!

Sorry to hear you got naile . I am very carefull about buying things on the net. If it makes you feel better I had to take a report for a 19 y/o that sent over about 2 grand for a used car outta state on E-Bay. The bad guy used a bad address and name, even getting the local P.D. in that area involved came up with nothing.

Re: urgggggggggggggg ebay!!

I have a 250 DOA on my 50cal Muzzle loader, the drops are dead on for my loads. (Dead doe at 150 yds this yr to prove it) The drops for a 50Cal muzzle loader shooting a 250gn sabot over 100 gn of triple 7 are WAAAY different that a 308 shooting anything.

With PP, report it immediately, if you wait 30 days they won't do anything. I'm not sure of the process, I don't like them but they have before and can get money back.

What are you guys talking about?! I have been selling and buying on ebay for years and sell multiple things a month on there. I can take out the money the second I get paid. Obviously it takes 2-3 days to process but its available right away.

I just read about it and I guess its only for bad or new accounts. So you can't say this rule applies to everyone, or most for that matter.

If you haven't spent the time to get that verified account those are the hard rules. I try to give as little financial info to paypal as I can, so yes, there are some of us that have to wait 10 days or until feedback is posted. It is not for bad or new accounts. Just ones that choose to not give up bank account info.

Re: urgggggggggggggg ebay!!

I have sold hundred of things on ebay....

As soon as a seller files a complaint, Paypal "locks" you out of your money for that item.

So I suggest you do that ASAP before he pulls it out of his PayPal account
