I am finalizing an my order of a Us Optics sn3 1.8-10x for my mgi ar. I plan on using it for at least 4 calibers, 5.56,7.62x39 and x25, 458 socom and maybe even 308 if MGI every releases the 308 conversion. The one thing that I am unsure about is getting the windage stop option. Because I am plan on using a bunch of different calibers I am worried that because the windage stop limits travel I might end up regretting choosing it. It reduces travel to 5 mil left and 5 mils right from I think 14 mils. Any help would be appreciated.

That is not a problem. First, 5 mils is 17 MOA, so it's good for 17 mph winds at 1kyd if you're shooting 308Win. Next, you can add more wind hold using the reticle. If you are ordering the GAP Type 61 reticle, you get another 4 mils of wind hold.
Second, the Germans use a combination of turret and mil dots for wind holds. My Hensoldt SSG-P has only +/- 2 mils of windage. Additional wind holds are achieved by using up to 5 mil dots. For example, suppose you have a strong wind from the left and need 6.7 mils of left windage. This could be achieved by dialing 3.7 <span style="text-decoration: underline">left </span>mils with the USO's windage turret and holding at the 3rd <span style="text-decoration: underline">right </span>mil hash mark.

The JNG is a MOA scale reticle with a circle for close-in CQB I presume. It has +/- 36 MOA of windage hold, which is slightly more than +/- 10 mils. You should be ordering turrets in MOA and not mils so that the turret and reticle are in the same units.
BTW, I have never needed a stop on my windage turret.
PS I see that USO now has a mil version of the JNG.

They sure do, I should have my 1.8-10 w/JNG-MIL very soon. I wish they put the 1.5-6 version of the JNG reticles in the 1.8-10, but I was told that they wouldn't substend correctly.

If I were ordering another USO I would forget the windage stop and just get a covered windage turret and EREK for elevation. I love how the #3 M40 looks, but operationally it's a pain in the ass. It likes to move in the bag.
I end up holding for wind 99% of the time. The covered turret prevents it from spinning in the trunk or on the move. The biggest benefit of turret stops are for lowlight when you cannot bust out a light source to check your settings. With a stop it's a simple matter to dial to the stop and come back up. If you use a covered turret then you can check it in the ORP and cover it, then you know it is going to be dead on at the FFP.
Watever you do make sure the turrets match the reticle. Mil, MOA or IPHY doesn't matter as long as they match.
