US SS 7mm Rem Mag

G'day;

I'm looking for notes on the HSM 7mm Rem Mag as used by the US Secret Service.

The data I have at the moment is;

Winchester Brass
FGMM 215M LMP
168gr Sierra Matchking Projectiles

What i'm struggling with is the powder and the expected MV.

I'm seeing data of 2950fps from the 26" barrel, but it's just such an insanely conservative load i'm wondering if I have my data correct.

Any info would be great.

Per Hodgdon 2022 Annual manual
24" barrel
Win case
Win LR Mag
Magnum powder max 72.9 @ 2904 fps 60,500 psi
Magpro ". Max 71.9 @ 2930 fps 60,900 psi
A 4350. ". Max 64.6 @ 2857 fps 60,100 psi

Having loaded for two different 7 R mag, one with 26 in barrel....168smk..H 1000 max "safe" load ended up around 2975 fps......if my memory is correct,I'm away from loading bench.

Other 7 Rem mag 24 in barrel ,168 vld.... IMR 8133 ended up 2985 ?......again working off of memory, but numbers are close

IMO, approach 3000 fps with much caution......yet ymmv

I'm running h1000 at the moment and there's a lot of space in the case. I thought maybe I had my facts wrong. I've got no pressure signs but I don't want to stress the barrel out so if it's a conservative load then I guess, that's what it is
