Loco,Ok.
I was thinking of trying a 5/8 to 1/2 bushing on my Omega 300 instead of buying a separate adaptor. It seems like this is a good way to save a few bucks on multiple thread adaptors but I may be overlooking something.

Will this work as long as the threads are concentric?

If so, are the bushings on brownells a good option?

My concern is that bushings my not have the proper runout required to mitigate baffle and end cap strikes. I'd talk to the mfg. and see what they say or recommend. Tolerance and runout are pretty important when it comes to aligning a can with the barrel. Just beware, and if those are available, then make sure to choose one with high tolerances. Another concern I'd have would be the bushing seizing to the inside of the can, rendering it only suitable for the bushing threads.

I feel it's best to stick with what the mfg. offers, but that's not always a silver bullet either. Definitely call the mfg.!

FYI- you can fabricate an alignment rod very inexpensively by using the proper sized Tight Tolerance Multi-Purpose O1 Steel Rods available at McMaster-Carr, only $5 or less for 3 feet of rod! I have the Geissele''s but I didn't know about this type of round stock availability. I was looking for a .22 caliber alignment rod on line and couldn't find one so I used the 0.2120", cut to length, chamfer the ends and use with light lubrication. Getting to my point, I was amazed how out of alignment the bore-suppressor axis could be during the final rotation of the suppressor mounting, every 90 deg off would / could have been a potential baffle strike without the use of the rod as guidance. Also you may need to use thin mounting shims to "time" the alignment perfectly. It also makes the point that a slight loosening of the suppressor during use can degrade accuracy or result in baffle strikes.
