USO Posa Slide & Lock MKI

Is anyone using one and are you happy with it? Looks like a heavy duty unit, any problems?

Any tricks or tips on installation? Any idea as to ring fastener torque setting?

Running one on my M-4orgery and luv it. Used the same setup in the sandbox during two tours without incident.....even after having a sling break and rifle dropping 8' directly onto asphalt scope first. No loosening or lose of zero (confirmed w/test fire back inside the wire).

Didn't have torque wrench.....just went 3/4 turn past finger tight.

Just wondering, I've sent mine back twice, scope kept slipping in the mount. It's a SN-4 1.5x6 on a .308 AR, tried different torque settings, no luck. It should handle the recoil/scope weight no problem. Waiting to see what the guys at USO can do.

Again, thanks for the info. You know your rifle had to hit scope first, it's like a law of physics...

I use one and love it. Its the only one that gets my glass low enough. 15 inch pounds of torque. My never moves, but its a 5.56.

Weird....I run an SN-4S 1-4x and never had an issue. Strange that a gas-fed gun's recoil would create an issue like that. Whatever the problem is, I know the guys at USO will figure it out and take care of you.

I've been using one on an 18" 5.56 for about a year and a half now, no slipping in the mount at all.

18 in/lb on the ring screws has held it just fine.

Guy's, it was kicking my a**. First try tightened to what I thought would be enough.
It's a beefy mount and the low height is perfect for me, gives great weld, looking right down the tube.
When she moved, used my Borka to 17in/lbs, still slipped. Sent it to Jeff, they replaced the ring halves and fasteners. Tightened to 20, still slipped, called, they said try 25in/lbs, the fasteners were squeaking! In 40 rounds, tube moved 4-5mm.
There must be something very wrong with the mount. It's not a .338 Lapua on a light bolt gun, it's a JP LRP-07, really a softy. The mount was brand new, the scope also. Now the scope looks like it's been on a dozen rifles, tubes a little shiny...

That sounds quite unusual.
I'd say double check your tube's dimensions (I know, it's a USO), and maybe try a different scope in the mount to see if you can replicate.
Also, you could try a bit of rosin on the rings to give it some extra grip (if it still slips, it will mar up the finish more, unfortunately).

Or, better yet, I would send the scope and mount back to US Optics to see if they can replicate the issue and remedy it.
