Can you share your pet load for light bullet 55gr and below..i purchased sako 75 223 with 1:12 twist and been playing with varget with 52smk with great result 26.60-27.5 but its compress i want to try diff powder for this gead or my 53vmax and 55balistic tips..
Tnx SH

The 52 is a good one. In my years of dog shooting, the 50 ballistic tips are a shade better. Accuracy and terminal both. 12 twist is good. Powders listed, I like 4895. 3200 or better and you are rockin. Don't need too fast don't need a smoking barrel. Though it is spectacular:}

most of those powders better suited to heavier heads in .223 . in my .223 ive had great results with 25.5g benchmark, 25g viht n133 or again h335. I like cci primers lapua or hornady brass with an oal 2245-50.

I have used this load data in a 1-12 X 20" since the early 70's, both are from Lyman's 44th and listed as Accuracy loads. Both are around 3K and super accurate. Bullets are Sierra match.

52 & 53gr 20.0 gr 4198

55gr 21.5 gr 4198

Sierra lists H4895, a case full.
I would be working up with your IMR and see what happens.
I sure would like a 12 twist Sako myself. Stuck shooting 69's this year. 12 twist Rem. burned out and became 8 twist.

Why the objection to a compressed load? Okay, back it off so it is 100% fill without compression. If it's a good accurate load and the velocity is adequate, what's the problem? Why start over, or reinvent the wheel? BB
