I alway keep a rod and reel in the truck right now its a diawa tournament ss with a 5:3 gear ratio. 3pc ugly stick. For my birthday and fathers day my wife said i have a $300.00 budget and she is taking my rig. So i can take it when we travel. Buy a couple extra spools keep braid mono etc.I have bait caster and other spinners. Im looking at these faster spinning rigs like abu garcia revos in the 6-7 gear range. I dont have anything faster than the 6 ratios

i fish mainly bass. But i would like to be able and throw some flys in streams in New Mexico and Colorado or fish off a pier or what ever in the gulf. One rig that could work in alot of situations. But also be a good bass rig.

Somthing that breaks down in a bag and give me option.s Probaly a medium or medium heavy ugly stick tiger. I know there are better rods but not many tougher

Other option is a 6wt fly rig like a sage bass or st.croix bass fly

My father, brother inlaw and myself all have okuma rods for inshore fishing. Two of us have Penn battle 6000 reels, and the other a Penn Fierce 6000. Almost think the fierce is the better option, even though I bought a second battle. Reason for the second battle, was go make it easier to switch from flouro to braid

Some 60lb mono and we were catching 10lb-30lb fish left and right. Easily 30+ fish in a couple hours, most taking 5-10 minutes to reel in.

Sage bass rods are great, and are a four pieace 8 foot rod,,i have used mine for bass, trout, bay fishing, beach fishing, and also used it on the flats,,fits in a suit case and is always in my truck,,one of my favorite fly rods with a redington reel and spools of sinking and floatig lines.

Went st. Croix sa combo pack waiting on it. Also picked up a 6 ratio lews spinning set up. Versatile as hell takes most braid great what ever leader very cool. Want another spool.
