I guess the first question is does a thumb shelf (one that brings the thumb to the same side as the fingers, like the MPA EVG yield the same advantage on an AR as bolt gun which they seem to be so popular on now for helping with more consistent grip/trigger finger placement etc. Perhaps it's better to just wrap the thumb through on an AR.

The second question is if people find it advantageous who makes something similar for AR's? Seems the MPA does not really work easily on ARs without mod (Though I do really like the mod of threading the safety spring retainer with a set screw, if no other reason to be able to fine tune safety function). Seems the MPA needs modification and gap filling, Tubb's does not have a thumb shelf on the right side. Most of the vertical precision AR options appear to put the thumb shelf on the opposite side of the fingers.

I just ordered the ergo tactical deluxe zero vertical grip. I use my ambidextrous safety lever as a make shift "shelf". Works good as an index point. The ergo is a true ar15 grip, not a bolt action chassis grip, so it should work well with no modifications.

I don't find it necessary. But. You or others, may. The Ergo Tactical Deluxe has a palm swell that may serve the purpose for you.
