I have an old winchester model 9422 lever action. It goes on my tractor, my 4 wheeler, and I take it on walks around my farm. I use it mainly on woodchucks and other pests when I don't want to drag out the .223, and when I need to shoot in sensitive areas of the property. Today I bought 2 boxes of cci segmented hp hypervelocity 22lr. I did a walk about after chores.
Amazing! 3 chucks in 20 minutes. First was killed outright. Second expired as I walked up on it. The third required a knife to the back of the head...but it was immobile.
In the past, I used standard cheapo federal 22lr....but I would end up poking holes in the critters...2 or three times before they quit.
The old stingers left me cold.....these are wonderful. I highly recommend!!
