Has anyone here had their hands on the Victrix Venus or Venus Pro 22lr?

There are very few reviews or even many posts about them, I’m guessing because they aren’t at all popular in the USA.
I’ve found a few videos on YouTube from X-Ring and Womfat who both seem to suggest it’s quite a nice rifle, but wish there was a little more info available.

I’m not is the USA so the cost of a Vudoo barrelled action is very expensive, based on Womfats video I’d almost be better off to buy a Venus Pro and if I don’t like the chassis drop it into a R700 chassis, as the price for the whole rifle is similar to a Vudoo barrelled action + a high end trigger.
The Venus Pro comes in a heavy contour 24” or 26” length which is what I’d want out of a Vudoo/RimX anyway.

A friend of mine has one and two more on order , Victrix rimfires like many other have pros and cons .
Actions are as slick as they get , triggers are very good ,machining, fit and finish is very good.Barrels seem to be fixed with some sort of a grub screew setup, and for some reason they use new line of Lothar Walther cold hammer forged barrels for the PRS models instead of LW button rifled offerings, stock venus have overly long LOP , chassis lack long top cover options. No extended mag capacity options
Barrels way too skinny on Venus models, a thicker one seems to be used in ORB model

Whole barrel thing is kinda mind-boggling as Victrix uses both LW and US made barrels in centerfires and LW manufactures good button rifled rimfire barrels that should have been fitted from the start instead of Hammer forget barrels that i imagine save couple of $$

From what i have seen in person in the Italian Worlds rifles worked well and guy in my squad that shot one had no noteworthy gun-related issues on any of the 20 stages

As second hand gosip one of my friends that competes in most of Italian comps and gets to see them more and talk to the shooters.
Cold bore POI shift on first round or tow is noticeable on some of them and owners curse that the most (cold hammer forged barrel likely at fault)LOP still too long , barrels to skinny,

At this point , for US customer Victrix makes no sense at all. you have similar or lower cost Voodoo ,RimX which you can have made to your specs .

Even for some of us Euro folks , the Victrix barrel is just a deal breaker .
If we ever get the chance to buy Victrix actions or barreled actions ,we could make rifles that will eat Voodoo and RimX for breakfast , but until then ---- not buying one.

Thanks for the feedback.

Do you think most of the complaints about the barrel being to skinny are from the non-pro venus models?
The ORB and Venus pro both look to have pretty heavy contour barrels.
Based on the bare weights of the venus pro and the ORB the barrels must be pretty thick to achieve the weight.
Womfat does a video on the non-pro venus and mentions that barrel is a bit too thin.

I don't see the Victrix rifles ever being too popular in the US, although it was interesting to see in one of X'Rings videos he does a side by side comparison with a RimX build and makes the case for the Victrix being reasonably good value for money.

I'm looking at competing at the IPRF rimfire in the UK this year in factory class, and the availability of high end factory rifles is pretty limited in New Zealand and the wait time to import one is 6-12 months. The Victrix seems to tick the most boxes although at a high price.

If stupid Tikka just put a proper barrel on the T1x Ace that would easily be the best choice.

When i say skinny its when compared to what they could have and what is now used on custom guns its plenty thick for a factory rifle and unlike most factories offers lenghts up to 26in

I don't see how you could get any Victrix in US at MPA Matrix Pro beating price let alone MPA ESR ,but yes when you are in NZ its a contender, as like for us in EU , prices of US rifles are about twice that of what they are in US plus us manufacturer actualy having anything on stock ready to shipp ,you are not making it worlds.!

If you are coming to UK worlds , we might meet i will definetly be there.

Honestly for production i would be seriously considering the new updated Anschutz 1761APR model over Victrix, i have handled one on IWA and upgrades make it very appealing, now with fat 28mm barrel and right balance point even without any add on weights. With Anschutz you know that barrel will shoot . Its one brand where you will be hard pressed to get an after market barrel to outshoot the factory offering.

When you see it live, paint color looks like base paint for steel bridges and rail road wagons

Cold bore POI shift is reported for some Venus PRO only. Many italian shooters report the same problem in Bergara barreled actions, so It seems related to the barrel diameter I think.
I am very happy with my Venus SB gen1 (not PRO) but, as almost 100% of italian shooters, I never shoot a Vudoo or a RimX for comparison.

Yeah the 26" APR is the other higher end rifle I was looking at, but again importing one in time is not likely to happen.

I wasn't thrilled with the XRS chassis being the only option but an ACC version would be fantastic. Unfortunately exports from Germany are extremely slow so unlikely I'll be able to get one in time.

26'' APR uses a skinny barrel like one that was used on 64MPR , 21'' uses 28mm straight
