My son and I both have older rifles we acquired recently. His is a Savage Stevens model 34. I don't know exactly how old it is, but it was purchased new at Sears or Montgomery Wards by the gentleman that gave it to him, so it has to be at least 30 years old I'm guessing. Looks like brand new. The gentleman said it probably only had 25 rounds or so through it.

Mine is a Winchester model 75 Target built in 1941. It looks almost brand new as well. It doesn't have the original peep sight setup on it, but I'm gonna keep my eyes open to find one someday.

Nice rifles. It's good to see the smile on a young shooter's face; good for you for you giving him the chance to shoot. I went shooting with one of my sons, yesterday, and it was great. Not quite the same as when we first did it, 42 years ago, but we still had a great time and smiled a lot.

That was his first range trip with it. I swapped the scope off of his Cricket onto it, and once dialed in he hit a small swinger at just over 100 yards. The look on his face when he hit it the first time was priceless.
