Rifle Scopes Vortex future??

Re: Vortex future??

I don't know anything special, but I do know that Vortex has a good customer service and warranty track record. They also made the upgraded eye piece on the Razor a retrofit, so I would bet if they go come out with a 10 mil per turn turret, that you could upgrade it. I would think however that there might be a charge for it as compared to the eye piece replacement. The eye piece and the turret are apples and oranges. It would take more to replace the turrets as you would be dealing with the internals of the scope at that point. The "meat and potatoes" of it so to say.

Re: Vortex future??

If vortex were to charge for the turret replacement, I feel that they would keep the cost to a bare minimum, probably only using it to cover their cost of replacement. IMO they offer these upgrades for customers to answer our feedback and keep us happy, and they want everyone to participate in the upgrades in order to keep their product performing the best that they can. Because of this I wouldn't hesitate to pay the cost of a turret upgrade if they decided to charge, especially because it is negligible in comparison with the scope's value.

Re: Vortex future??

I would have no issue paying for the upgrade in fact I feel I should. I feel the high speed would make the razor about the perfect scope in it's price range if it wasnt already. The 10mil nightforce f1 keeps my attention but if I could get any conformation of a vortex upgrade it would be a no brainer

Re: Vortex future??

Agreed. It amazes me that Vortex didn't do a 10 mil/rev turret right from the get-go. Maybe the tooling wasn't available at the time. It is now though...:)

Re: Vortex future??

The 5 mil/turn turret (along with its giant trash-can profile) was my second biggest dislike on the Razor. They fixed the biggest (ocular), let's hope they respond in like with the turrets. I can say that the 10 mil/rev on my new SS 5-20 is very sweet and makes life under 1000 yds. so much nicer ( I can get to 1200 before crossing zero now), and shooting over 1000 a LOT easier to keep track of.
