I am debating which to buy for PRS. If I wait for the Nightforce Mil-C reticle, we are talking about 5 months away and approximately $1000 more in price. I have looked at both scopes and each has pros and cons. If I go for the Vortex, I would choose the 2c mil reticle. Opinions please.

I don't think the Mil-C will disappoint you in the 5-25 if you really want that reticle. With how many people say they rarely go above 20x in competition, I don't see how you can go wrong with either optic so get the Vortex.

I own 2 of the gen II vortex & have shot the NF 7-35 (Mil-R reticle). I don't think I would ever need that much magnification (7-35) for PRS distances. Besides that, the Mil-r reticle was way too thick at the higher powers compared to the vortex, at least for my liking. Maybe the Mil-C will be better though, hard to say. I CAN say I really like the thinner reticle and open center on the ebr-2c. When you add in the additional grand for the NF and the long wait, the decision would be a no brainer for me! As far as glass goes, from my eyes I can't tell the difference. I shoot the vortex on my boomer out to targets at 2500 yds and the optical clarity and magnification range is more than sufficient.

yeah, no need for the 7-35, except for sighting in at 100. most guys seem to shoot between 10x and 16x for most PRS stuff. i have used 25x once, prone, but really didn't need any more than that. both the NF and Vortex are great scopes. i would go for the one that has the reticle that your eye likes. of course there are some great deals on S&B out right now. they can be had for the $2600-2800 range. thats hard to beat

I've been using the 7-35x for a few months, and I really like it. 35x really is more than I've needed, as I have never shot it above 25x. I still don't see any downsides, though.
