Rifle Scopes Vortex Razor Gen 2 4.5 x 27 on 20moa base elevation issues please help!

I finally got my rifle set up today and went to go shoot. I have a Bighorn TL3 with a 20moa base on a 6.5 x 47. The scope is brand new from the factory. I am hitting somewhere around 6 to 8 mils higher with the dials set as low as they will go and the zero stop is bottomed out as well. The only issue I think might have caused it is my Badger rings got off a little when setting them on the picitinny you will see in the photo that the front ring is setting just a hair high. Would this cause that much issue with elevation?

I personally don't like how the rear ring is up the erector housings ass and the front ring is dry humping the bell.

Not sure if this is your problem. It just doesn't look right.

Also, your set screws on the elevation are loose. Not sure if they were that way when you were shooting.

I can sure try that could also be an issue if the bell is pushing up on the mount raising the front of the scope. I sure appreciate the input thank you!

is/was the bell actually touching the rail?

ive actually done that before when i was in a hurry and wasn't paying attention.

And you are positive that you have properly reset the zero stop? So many times when people ask this question, the answer lies in completely and properly resetting the zero stop.

What we have here is a failure to read the instructions. The zero stop on the Vortex is fixed, you cannot change it nor does it need to be "set". You sight the rifle in by using the brass center screw under the turret caps, not the turret dial itself. This sight -in procedure is different than any other other scope made. You can twist those dials till your blue in the face, and get nowhere near correct sighting-in. See page 11-12 in the below PDF....Or the video below....

Ok so for what it' worth I got it zeroed. when I started the brass set screw was as low as it could go and I was still hitting 7 or 8 mills high and about 4 mils left. I decided to adjust my windage and never touched elevation and my next shot hit center and about 8 mils low. From there I was able to use the zero stop screw to raise the poi and zeroed. I have no idea what caused the massive jump in elevation maybe something was stuck in the reticle ?

Read the instructions. There is no zero stop screw and you do not touch the turrets when you are sighting in the rifle.
