We just received several Vortex Razor HD riflescopes at the store where I work part-time in Louisville. One is a 5-20x50 EBR- 2 MRAD. Right now, I'm displying it on a Remington 700 .338 Lapua. Thing is, I have no experience with the brand. Any here have an impression for this brand or for the benefits of owning the scope I described?

Re: Vortex Razor HD

Mine has been great. The EBR-2 reticle is good for match shooting. I would want to ensure that your scopes have the new ocular upgrade. Vortex makes good products and is backed by some of the best folks in the business.

Re: Vortex Razor HD

Ive owned a NF F1, NF nxs, a premier 3-15, 2 vortex PST's, and one SWFA SS 5-20. My favorite so far is, and currently the only optic I have left ,is my Vortex Razor. Its in my opinion one of the most rewarding optics to operate.

Re: Vortex Razor HD

No experience with that particular scope but I just posted a few minutes ago about the Vortex Crossfire 6-24x50 Mildot scope that was a total piece of crap. After 18 shots trying to get my rifle sighted in, I gave up and put another scope from a .223 that I had. First shot was 1 o'clock in the black. My opinion is Vortex is a really bad scope. Read several reviews after the fact and found that they don't last long on .308's. Unfortunately, I couldn't get it to work at all.

Re: Vortex Razor HD

Crossfire and Razor are two different scopes. The Crossfire is made to be a cheap under $200 scope. The Razor is made to compete with high end tactical scopes. I have had a couple and they are very good scopes. They have all the features most people look for in a tactical scope.

What? I don't mean to be rude, but you just made an opinion of an entire company because of your experience based on your buying the cheapest scope they make.

Vortex is a fine company and they make some really great scopes. They also make a really marginal scope for the guys who are only willing to spend $99 on an optic.

+1

(To qualify: I've never owned other high-end scopes, but I shot them on rifles belonging to other guys - so can compare, to an extent.)
