I recieved my 4-16 ffp/mil/mil PST in the mail back in I think March and put about 100 rounds through my 280 AI with it and about 200 rounds of 6x47 lapua in a match and the scope performed FLAWLESSLY. Ran it out to 1150 yds on a few different ranges and it always returned to a dead nuts on zero. Then on a bear hunt in late april in Idaho I noticed the scope had some 'flecs' appear in the optical. No big deal it wasn't that much of an issue and the scope still worked like a charm but I was a bit disappointed.

Finally got around to sending it back to vortex on June 10th with a note asking if it was possible for me to upgrade to the 6-24 model and I would pay the difference plus some if needed.

Well I got a call last wednesday from Vortex saying they'd fixed my scope and saw my note about upgrading. Well they didn't have any 6-24's NIB in the warehouse but they did have one that was sent back to them with the 'specs' as well and had been fixed in like new condition that they could send me with NO EXTRA charge! I said you bet and it came in today! They sent it back to me with a new box, new sunshade, bikinni covers, new battery/shims, and chamois cloth! All I sent to them was the bare scope in a box with the foam insulator packing materials.

New scope is clear as a bell, mounted up perfect and is waiting to get some serious workouts this summer. Thank you Vortex!!

That doesn't suck

We got some 1-4's in for our 3 gun rifles and they are awesome.

When are you coming down to do some more shooting or did we burn you out already

Re: Vortex Rules.... PST sent back and returned...

Vortex scopes are outstanding - what very few shortcommings they do have, they make up for 10 fold in customer service which is what people truly appreciate these days.

Im just about to pull the trigger on the 4-16 moa/moa ffp. Are you glad you upgraded? why did you decide to upgrade? is the glass that much better or is it just noticeable but doesn't make the world of difference. I was going to get the 6-24x50mm but some shots i make are pretty damn close so i decided on the 4-16. i can always upgrade it looks like

which makes me happy. Cant wait to offically order it!!

Re: Vortex Rules.... PST sent back and returned...

I agree the glass is equal imho... I just decided to upgrade because I don't carry a spotting scope with me and the extra magnification is good to have for hunting situations to get a better look at my target. Kinda the same rather have it than need it type thing!

Glen I should be back down there in July sometime! Pretty tough to make a 4 hour drive just for some shooting unfortunately! Al told me you guys got the 1-4's in and he also said they are kick ass! Don't you guys have a 3-gun comp coming up second weekend in July or somethin? Wish I could make it down there!

Re: Vortex Rules.... PST sent back and returned...

I contacted Vortex once because I was worried about all the rumors that the 4-16x isn't as clear as the 6-24x and here's the answer I recieved, "There should be no difference in optical quality between a 4-16 SFP and any of the 4-16 FFP/6-24 SFP or FFP. I have quizzed a couple of our on-staff riflescope experts. They assure me that should be no difference. It's all the same glass."

Re: Vortex Rules.... PST sent back and returned...

The CS that Vortex has been showing for a while now is one of the big reasons I was willing to jump away from buying Nightforces and pull in a Razor when I needed a new scope.

Glad to hear that they took good care of you.

Keep it up Vortex!
