I sent my Vortex Diamondback scope back to Vortex last Monday. The zero was wandering left worse and worse with every group. I tried 2 sets of rings, made sure the base was tight, action screws were torqued, etc. Shooting ammo that's proven 3/4 out of the rifle.

Shipped it Monday, they got it Wednesday, got an email confirming they got it and would be 5 to 7 business days. Got a FedEx email confirmation today, day 5, that they shipped something back to me, will be here Monday. That's pretty fast and I'm happy about that. My question is, is there an explanation as to what was wrong or fixed? Those that have sent something back to Vortex, do they put a note n the box to say what was done?

With your scope you will receive a form explaining what was broken, the job they did to fix it, what parts they had to replace and the test results after being fixed.

I sent my Viper PST in this past summer. I believe there was a note in the box. But, the big thing was that they actually CALLED and told me what they found and what they did. I was pretty shocked!

Your shipping/repair timing pretty much matches my experience.

My overall experience with Vortex was very positive.

They have always had solid CS for me. One of the main reasons I went with the Razor Gen 2 over some other options that were similarly priced.

Yes they do. I sent in a Diamondback HP that had a twisting reticle (spun in the housing) and got it back with note in 8 days from shipping. No charge (they paid shipping both ways) and a note explaining the issue. It worked and tracked fine afterwards.

I got my scope back via FedEx today. The repair ticket states that the parallax ring was loose, but no other adjustments or repairs were made. Would a loose parallax ring cause a significant wandering zero? Im talking a 3/4 inch group and then the very next group 2 inches and progressing further and further left
