Vortex Viper HD 8x42 or 8x32

Been using the Leupold Wind River 10x50's for several years and while they've served me well, I'm looking to upgrade.

Been looking for a year or so and while I'd love to have the 8x42 Leicas, I cant seem to make myself pull the trigger on a pair.

I've narrowed my search to two pair, the Vortex Viper HD in 8x42 or 8x32. These will mainly be hunting binoculars and when I'm hunting, I use them pretty hard. I glass alot looking in dark shaddows and tree lines, from 200 to 700+ yards 99% of the time.

Early and late, I keep them up to my face so edge to edge sharpness and a bright picture is a requirment. Anyone here use these or have any feed back.

Haven't used the 8x bino's. But we use Ace's 12x Razor HD's to spot with a lot at practice and match's. They are a great product, very clear and crisp. IMHO

In some cases they are better for spotting than the Leupy spotter he has.

We can easily see trace thru those 12x. If the 8x42 are any comparison to the 12x, I think you will be very pleased.

I have a pair of 6.5x32 (fury) and 8x42 non-hd vipers. I would go with the 42mm before the 32mm, My 6.5's get dim fast in dark shaddows and tree lines as the sun gets low. I would imagine 8x would be even dimmer.

WNROSCOE did you end up going with the viper hd or something else I was looking at those myself and wanted to now how you like them if you did get one.thanks redbeard

I decided on the 8x42's and signed up as a Vortex Dealer as well. I'll order after shot and will most likly get the Razor HD spotter as well.
