I found several bricks of the old Wolf Match Target (old as in still made by SK).
I've been wanting to take my Vudoo out to 300 yards, but I didn't have enough of a decent ammo to bother with it, so this gave me the opportunity to try.

I zeroed at 25, then used the Hornady 4DOF app to get try dope for 100, 200, 300. They got me pretty close.

Distance (yards) Come Ups(MOA)
25 0
50 1.0 - 5 Shots one large hole
100 7.0 - 5 shots around 1 MOA
200 23.0
300 48.5 - 5 shots less than 3 inches tall, about 14 inches wide (tail wind was switching left to right)

Now that it's dialed in, I hope to use it to practice in the wind. My local range only goes to 300yards and I need more practice in the wind at distance with my 6XC.
I don't know how the Wolf ammo is now that it's made by Eley (I don't recall what grade of Eley it corresponds to) but this SK stuff has always been fantastic in my rifles.

Ross

The "old" Lapua-sourced Wolf Match Target is effectively the same as SK Standard+ - decent practice ammo but definitely not, broadly speaking, a good choice for over-150-yard work. The "broadly speaking" caveat is necessary because, often enough, stars and planets and cosmic rays all line up and one gets amazing accuracy from mid-level or even lower ammo.

I still have a brick of Lapua-sourced Wolf Match Extra (e.g., rebranded SK Rifle Match) as well as a couple boxes of Wolf Match Target. I haven't messed with them in my Vudoo since I stocked up on Center-X and CC SV (the latter is good for positional practice using 2-3moa targets out to 100 yards)... both were ok in the Vudoo and decent in my MDT-chassis CZ-455. As would be expected, the Wolf Match Extra performs a little better over numerous rounds than the Wolf Match Target.

Regarding the Lapua-sourced Wolf ammo versus the newer Eley-sourced versions: buyers really need to be aware of the two different sources as there is still some of the Lapua-sourced stuff around, and Eley-sourced is different! A new .22 shooter at my "home range" found out be experience.

I noticed a guy I didn't recognize shooting a new CZ-457 (not sure which variant). Next to him was a plastic container of bulk ammo. So I struck up a conversation with him; sure enough, the rifle was brand-new and, while he had experience with center-fire, he was new to rimfire. So I gave him a box of Lapua-sourced Wolf Match Target (WMT) I had in my bag and said, just compare this to what you're shooting there. I'm pretty sure I told him the difference between the "old" ammo I was giving him and the "new" Eley-sourced stuff and that he could request test lots of different stuff from Good Shooting Inc. Then I left.

Last week, I was on the 550-yard range when he came over from the adjacent sighter range. He said he wanted to thank me and my box of ammo worked very well in his rifle. He went on to say that he had bought a brick of Eley-sourced WMT and found it wasn't nearly as accurate. There was more after that, but the point is, one needs to be aware that Wolf rimfire is rebranded other-stuff.

Yeah, when I was a kid, my old Winchester 72 would routinely put 5 shots into less than 3/8" at 50 yards with Winchester WildCat ammo. That was the cheapest ammo that me and my friends could find and we went through countless bricks of the stuff.
I don't know if this particular lot of SK/Wolf is very consistent or not, but I'll find out over the next 1200 rounds or so. Then I'll start looking for some SK Rifle Match. Hopefully it will shoot well enough that I'm not tempted to look for some Center-X.

You've been around SH long enough that you're probably aware of this, but - just in case you are not - you can call Cathy at Good Shooting, Inc. and request test lots of whatever you want. You can chase pricing all you want, but day in day out and including shipping, I haven't seen anyone beat their pricing except in very very rare instances.

With Center-X (or Midas+ or X-Act), Lapua's lot testing program is dirt cheap for what you get. They make their money by a requiring minimum case-lot (5,000 rounds) order of the favored lot. There are several articles and posts here about it; I'm too lazy right now to find the links....
