I bought a V22 with the Bartlien Kukri barrel. The BA is off at my gunsmith's shop right now for matching ceracote on the barrel and bedding into the stock so I haven't shot it. I have some SK, Fiocchi, and Wolf Match ammo (along with all the standard fair. Also I have a little bit of Eley and some Lapua Midas. Just wondering if there is a "magic" round (akin to FGMM 308) that is going to shoot best right out of the gate. What are you finding is best in yours?

My Vudoo shot most everything great at 50 yards but when I stretched it out and the ES/SDs went up in some of them the groups opened. Lapua Center X, Eley Match and Edge, Fed GMM UM22 and SK rifle match work good. Wolf match shot well in my teammates rifle but I never shot it in mine.

Good info @Rob01 . Thanks! Center X seems to be the most recommended 22LR for everything right now. I will be shooting from 50 out to around 300 yards with this one. I've found that the match or subsonic ammo (limiting to around 1050 FPS) will transition better on the longer distances than HV type ammo.

Yup it definitely does. The Center X and others that work good are about 1090-1110fps in my rifle. For matches out to 300+ i usually shoot the Eley or Lapua. Great ES/SDs and very accurate.

i got an email from vudoo that said:

    Ammo Recommendations:
Eley Tennex, Lapua Center X and RWS Special Match all consistently produce the best groups. However, those are the top of the food chain for quality and price! For half the price we have excellent results with SK Standard Plus and SK Rifle Match.

My vudoo has been shooting the SK standard plus great and have shot it out to 300 yards although the groups open up a lot past 200 yards. If I’m really shooting for groups I shoot the lapua Midas. The consistency is just unparalleled. I buy it from midway when in stock for about 15 bucks a box and it’s well worth it when looking at the results and cost of the rifle. I’ve tried three different lots and all have shot great

My best results have been with Ely Match and Midas+ but Center-x has worked well too. I still need to try some SK standard plus. I have a 22" Kukri contour Bartlein. The Ely Match had an extreme spread between 14 and 24 fps and the Midas+ was just a little higher.

My other one is also 22" bartlein is on ceracoating stage..which is better at farther distance bet center X and ely match?

The last time I rand the Ely Match over the chrono the ES over 10 rounds was 14 so I am going to use that ammo for longer distance shooting and use Center X or something even cheaper for practice and shooting to 100 yards.

It can, that's why people send their rifle off to Lapua or Ely to have it tested with different types andlot numbers. Tnen they buy as much as they can afford of the lot # that performs the best in their rifle. That's a good way to find a great lot of something less expensive like Center-X instead of having to spend much more for one of the premium lines like X-Act
