Here are shots 11-20. The first magazine was sighters. Pretty sure the two to the right were me. Eight of the ten shots measured .375 outside to outside. The entire group measured .562 out side to outside. I'm sure it will do better. One group may not mean much but it's off to a good start! Dark set in and I was losing my cross hairs, maybe more shooting this weekend. Rain is suppose to set in tomorrow through Friday.

I have the PST Gen II, a kukri barrel, large bolt knob, the Vortex precision matched medium rings, and a 30 MOA rail. Everything clears just fine. I also have the Vortex wrap around throw lever on it. With that lever on, I can't get the full magnification ring, because it hits the receiver on one side, so I have about 8-25x.
Question for you. I have the same set up but with 20 MOA base. I did a mechanical zero then went to the range. I expected to dial down for 50yard zero however ended up raising up about 6MOA to zero. Curious what you did.
Nice rifle and shooting....have you had a chance to weight your rifle? What do you think about the rifle case...worth the $$$?
I wanted to go with a light carbine, something much handier for shooting out of my truck and easier to get out with in a hurry when a shot at a varmint presents itself unexpectedly. I ordered in a V-22 bbl'd action w/18" Ranch profile bbl, which is the lightest one VGW lists. Wanted it finished at 22", but 18" was as long as they could go with the light contour bbls. It's as handy as I could've asked for, even with a 22TD mounted, and the ACE bbl is as accurate as any of the other custom bbls I've got on heavier .22s - it's just a bit harder to hold it steady as the shot breaks when shooting off a bench. I've got a Krieger #4 sporter contour .22RF blank ordered, with the intention of fitting & chambering it for the Ranch carbine, but finishing it at 22". It'd be just a tad heavier than the ACE Ranch, even if left at the same 18".
But I've just finished a Shilen select match ratchet rifled #5 contour bbl for a CZ457 American that didn't shoot well for me with its OEM bbl - and this bbl is shooting really well in initial testing. Because of how well it's shot so far, I'm considering getting another one in the same contour for the V-22 Ranch. With some minor contour adjustments, it'll fit nicely in the Manners EH2 I have the Ranch carbine in, and at 22", will balance better than the little 18" Ranch bbl (bottom rifle in the attached photo). Anyone else here have any experience with Shilen .22RF bbls on their V-22s (or any other .22RF rifle)?

No wife to share them with...unfortunately. Get a woman started shooting a precision .22 like these, you'd better prepare to double your ammo budget! One of my friends with a Jelrod-converted 40X repeater has taken his wife out shooting with his .22 several times - she takes her time, but has kicked his butt with his own rifle a couple of times...lol Would love to share my rifles with a good woman who loves shooting.
How does the Shilen shoot compared to your kukri profile barrels (ace, Bart, or Krieger)? Very curious as I spoke with someone that said Shilen is designed for bench and does great at those distances. Once you go to 150-300 yd they can't match the performance of the other barrels.

My rifle weighs 10.32 pounds with an unloaded magazine inserted, bolt, scope and rings attached.
I do like the case but I'm not a big hardcase fan. My preference would have been for a nice Vudoo branded sniper drag bag option, something similar to an Eberlystock or maybe a Midway drag bag. For guns I intend to shoot a lot I like to set up a bag with its on cleaning rod and supplies. The soft cases allow me to do that and they don't take up a ton of space in the vehicle traveling to and fro and are much easier to handle. The biggest down fall of the case in my opinion is that it's not a true custom fit. You can see in my photo around the grip area and magazine release, the extra space around the border allowed the gun to shift around a good bit during shipping. The magazine release dug in and allowed the high density phone to tear just in front of the grip and mag well. The case is sturdy and durable, more so than my explorer case and did a fine job of protecting my gun during 5 days of UPS abuse.
Is the case worth the price? I think so. My primary reason for purchasing the case was for piece of mind during shipping and I thought it would also be cool to have a branded case. I've received a few guns over the years with the barrel sticking out of the case or box. I'm sure Vudoo knows how to pack a gun but knowing myself I'd have a hard time with the gun protruding out of the packaging.

What contour barrel?
That's the first I've heard of Shilen accuracy being dependant on distance. Even if it's true, I doubt it'd bother me much on the 457 sporter, as I'd probably not go away from using my heavy bbl'd V-22s for LR shooting. It's too muddy for me to be able to get to my 1000yd range, where I'd need to be to shoot the .22s out past 210yds, but I can try the 457 American/Shilen today at 210 to see how it compares to one of my V-22s and/or the CZ457 MTR.

I put a 22" Kukri bbl'd action into a McMillan adj A5 stock for a customer, but didn't take any photos of it before I let him leave with his new toy. Will try to find a photo of the M700 in 6x47 I sold him, as it has a stock he wanted to duplicate for the V-22. And here it is - what McMillan refers to as "70% med tan & 30% olive w/lt tan splat". I bought a similar stock off their inventory list a few years ago, and the color/pattern kind of grew on me. Evidently, my friend likes it too.

Had a few minutes to fool with the Sinister between rain showers today. I'm figuring out how to get my set up more stable. With the rounded forearm it rolls a bit when firing. In the first four groups I was experimenting with a bipod off a plywood bench. It didn't work so well. After removing the two swivel studs I mounted a pic rail to install a F class bipod but I added a small shim of rubber between the rial and stock to prevent marring up the paint. Didn't work worth a hoot as you can see in the first four groups.
Anyhow, I managed to pull off my personal best 10 shot group of any rimfire. Now just to get better consistency in my set up!

EddieE - I had him take the rifle home without bedding it. Told him to shoot it the way it was for as long as he wanted, and if he decided he wanted it bedded, I'd do it whenever. He's called a couple of times since then, and has been very pleased with the accuracy w/o bedding. I ordered the McM A5 with machined-in pillars, and as the V-22 is a M700 clone when it comes to the inlet, I guess the guys who've written & refined the inlet program have had plenty of time to 'get it right'. I bedded the Manners T4A on my V-22, but only after doing quite a bit of shooting with it. Can't say that it had any effect on the rifle's accuracy, though it probably did give me more confidence in the rifle's accuracy potential. I have yet to bed the Manners PRS1T on my newer Kukri, and am not seeing any difference in the accuracy relative to the first rifle. So why take the time & effort to bed? - other than the difference knowledge that you're shooting a bedded rifle might make in your confidence level - when going into a stock with the inlet as accurately done as McM & Manners stocks are, it's not really logical to expect such difference.
Thanks. I like the McM stocks. But the thought of using a tradition stock that is not bedded with a V22 makes me think the rifle isn't going to perform at its potential. I will order my rifle soon. Trying to decide if I should go with the AIAT or the McM. Deciding factor would have been if I had to bed the McM, oh I guess delivery time also.
I'm definitely a conventional stock fan. I have little or no interest in shooting with a chassis, although I've owned & shot extensively in highpower matches with a couple of Eliseo tubegun stocks that I put Pearce TG actions in. There's just something more familiar & comfortable to me when I pick up a rifle in an A-5 or T4A/PRS1 pattern. But that's why there are so many choices in today's market - stock design is a very individual thing. The chassis craze didn't exist when I started shooting competitively, so I was already used to and comfortable with conventional tactical stocks, as well as the Robertson Composites H&H prone stocks on my MR & LR prone rifles. The H&H design had its origins based on the Anschutz 1611 prone stock, which is why I had a 1611 as a trainer, and why it worked so well for me in that role. When I sold the 1611 to buy a 2011 we found on GB, it was an easy transition, as the stock is identical (except for the action inlet) to the 1611's.
Whichever stock you go with, I'm sure you'll enjoy shooting your V-22.

I do like the stock and with my shoulder pocket, neck and cheek geometry the type of comb on Greyboe Terrian stock suits me better. The only similar stock I have to compare to is the HS Precision stock on my l/a 700p.
The stock is beefier than a standard spotter stock but not as robust as the 700p stock. It looks to be a good compromise between a standard spotter stock and a purpose built tactical stock.
My main use for this gun is squirrel hunting and in the off season, tinkering around trying to improve my shooting set up and group size. I felt this design was best for my purposes. I was a little concerned about the overall weight but after receiving the gun at a touch over 10 pounds with everything installed it doesn't feel like the weight will be a problem.
This last few days are the first times I've ever used match ammo. With all the lube on the ammo I feel like I've been greasing and lubing the lawnmower. HA! Guess I need to load them one at a time other than pouring 10 rounds in the palm of my hand.

If you are like me and don't have other folks stuff you can look at you are pretty much stuck with what you know, all black or black action and stainless barrel.
The option I chose was the same idea I used when I ordered a custom long bow. I'm not artistically inclined so I gave the bower a list of materials I like and the general design and told him to work it out. Exotic wood may be a different animal all together with the many varying shades and contrast with in the same species but with my Vudoo I talked with Paul about it, the stock and color of stock that I wanted and pretty much took his recommendation on the barreled action paint. I went with sniper gray and it matched up well and is a neutral enough color that it will blend with other colors if I were to choose a different stock someday. Some folks may not be comfortable with that but it worked out for me.

they have a "chalked" finish, never saw it so i tried it
that was pretty nice, covered pretty good and sprayed without much splatter

I'll also throw in my vote for the Huber 2-stage. I started with the Timney CE... and maybe I got a lemon, but it broke like a cooked carrot. I'm likely more sensitive to creep than some/most.
Huber is nice and crisp. I had narrowed it down to Huber and Bix...but the Bix was untested in the Vudoo at that point.
I have a bix going in mine but won’t get it for another 2 weeks, good ole Cali waiting period. Joy

Hello - I’m looking for some very specific direction. When I ordered my V-22 with a MTU 19”, A.I. AX, with a Timney CE single-stage flat trigger, Vudoo recommended the trigger be set at 1.5 pounds. I have not tested it, but it feels very heavy. I would like to set it at 8 ounces, without messing anything up! Can someone walk me through the very specific detailed steps to set my trigger at 8 ounces?

Yes, CE was a 2-stage. I could feel the second stage moving before it broke. As 10ring1 stated, some are happy with it. Unknown if theirs doesn't creep (i.e., mine was a lemon), or if they don't mind. I find any creep unacceptable in a rifle. I have a 40yo Marlin 60 with a better trigger. Again, not throwing stones, but another data point. I changed to Huber, and haven't looked back.
Anyways, yes, several have mentioned using the Bix in their Vudoo. Sounds like no issues. Anyone at Vudoo could give you the current thought.
My Timney CE has no discernable creep between stages that I note. I have several Kidds in 10/22 s which is the gold standard for 10/22. Timney is a bit heavier pull but compares to feel in many ways. Wanted 2 stage and TT didn't have one. Huber was not what I was looking for really...
