So far in just a couple weeks will make a year since I attended shot show and was quoted 6 weeks for the purchase of one Volquartsen tf-17. Since then,it has been extended every time it have called asking for the status of this rifle. Is it me or I a Volquartsen this busy? Has anyone ordered a rifle from them that's has been dealt in this manner?
I've yet to hear from them that the rifle is coming... Actually I'm pretty tired of calling and getting the same response since August.... "We are making the rifle and it should be shipped by the end of the month".... Anyone else have these issues?

I suspect I would have been in the same position as you had I not been warned off by a helpful smith. I had gone in looking for a .22 trainer and had always been interested in their products. After expressing my interest in what they had to offer the smith said that they are really slow to deliver and not great on the communication side. I was going to have to order something regardless so that was enough for me to go the direction of a CZ.

Seems like a big delta between 6 weeks and something sneaking up on 52

Good luck to you.

I have one in 17mach2 shoots one hole on calm days, it is very nice but would not wait for any gun more than 10 days . find it close, the cz's shoot great & you can see the target it shoot before you buy it.

Pester, thank you for the input. I was told originally it was a 6-8 week wait.... 12 weeks later I called and they advised me the sales person I ordered the rifle with made a mistake... It would actually be about 6 months before I saw the rifle... Which was fine, as long as it's a tac driver! After 7 months I called back raising a little Cain... They advised me it would be 11-12 months before I saw the rifle. Which will conclude in a couple weeks...... I'm accustomed to waiting for rifles, I own a couple custom rifles etc... GA precision being one, but I have never come across something like this. Other smiths were pretty honest, and fairly close to their times promised.... I didn't come here to thrash Volquartsen, but I'm starting to wonder if I keep getting out to the back of this arbitrary line.... It's becoming quite frustrating.... Especially waiting for a freaking rimfire! Best part is, I asked them to thread the barrel.... They declined... Told me if I wanted them to thread it, then I would have to send the rifle back after I received it... Had I known all this prior to, they would have never seen a penny from me.... But I have come this far... Looks like I'll wait them out or just die before I get the rifle....

Line, I hear you on the frustration and your this far into it so changing directions may not make a ton of sense. I hear good things about the product but dang.... good customer service is not hard and always pays off. Look at Manners...those guys are great and Tom runs with arguably some of the best C/S in the industry.

Too bad others cant seem to figure it out.

Wish I had a solution for you and thanks for your service.

I ordered a VQ Fusion recently and was told to expect an 11 month wait. Remember the circumstances of the firearms industry in January 2013, when the OP placed his order, in the wake of the Sandy Hook incident: every manufacturer was innundated with orders like they had never seen before, and it shouldn't be surprising that VQ and others quoted overly optimisic wait times.

6 weeks, to 12 months is a swee dab more than over eager wait times.... That's just strait BS..... Oh and as promised to ship Friday.... It still hasn't.... I want to think the best of this place but it's beginning to become quite difficult

I ordered a Volquarsen Scorpion when they showed it off about two years ago. Because of demand and what sounded like an issue with a vendor it went from a couple months to like 8 or so. But I'm glad I waited because it is an awesome pistol.

yeah, I think there's a communication break somewhere there, I went through the gun genie and got mine (TF-17) within a couple of weeks. I also ordered and ended up canceling a couple of items with them. But lately, I ordered some grips from them and even though they sent the wrong one first, they were quick to fix it... growing pains I suspect. I can put 10 shots under a quarter in no wind with mine... good luck.

Hey Brother,

Don't feel singled out. Not that it will make you feel any better but the wait for my Fusion went steadily from 8 weeks to 1 year. This was last year. To be fair, I must admit that comms with Volquartsen were frequent so at least they kept me in the loop. Never once had that feeling of "oh shit, I'm never getting this thing."

Patience is not one of my strongsuits but in the end it was worth it. The Fusion is a work of art and the most accurate semi .22 I have ever seen.

Arrived today! Range report as soon as I get out that way!

Well on the 6th round that I shot ever from the rifle.... It blew back... Blew the magazine out, while breaking it, spilt the stock, burned all above my brows... Thank god for safety glasses... So after waiting for a year I got 5 rounds down range and she blew up.... Regular cci 20grn ammo.

Glad you are OK. At the end of the day, that's the most important thing. I hate shooting glasses but I love the gift of sight more.

Curious to see what went wrong.

Glad you're ok!

Just thought I would chime in. My son shoots junior bullseye and I've built a few pistols with VQ parts, up to and including their frames and uppers. So I have no experience buying new complete rifles but I can assure you their customer service had been outstanding. For instance, I bought a stock(used) Ruger MKII, and wanted to upgrade to the VQ innards. I got it all together and, long story short, it just wouldn't reset after every shot. I shipped it to them, got it back in a week rebuilt with new parts, no charge. Runs like a champ now. They have a solid history and would bet they will make good on your issue.

Back a few years ago my Rem 597 in 17 HMR blew up. It fired out of battery. The rifle blew the magazine out the bottom and lost the extractor. Im left handed so the case rupture cut my face. The rifle was recalled and after some bitching I exchanged it for a 547 out of the custom shop. Seems the semi's and 17's just are a bad combo. I went to Shot and looked at their rifle and was surprised they built those. I really like their ultra light 22. Good luck

I'm wondering how Alexander arms new 17hmr ar is working. Makes me consider getting the tf back and selling it then trying the Alexander arms 17.
Good thing is that vilquartsen offered a lifetime warranty... Just wish their customer service was better. With work this business model could be fixed and it could be one kick ass business.

17HMR and semi was never a good mix that was learned after the fact.

Remmy and Volq know how to make a decent .22 Mag semi... BUTT!!! Be da-da-damned if

I'm going on a waiting list for Volq's 17 WSM semi.

I actually hope that Remmy has engineers working on a 597M WSM.

Best to all and prayers for full recovery of any that have received eye injuries.

I disagree, if one can make a semi auto 50cal... One can surely make a 17hmr semi.... If you commit to the challenge, don't half ass it. And defiantly don't leave your customers in the dark when a rifle blew up in their face. If more research is needed, invest it, raise the price of rifle or abandon the idea....
But I'm not bashing volquartsen. So far they have been good to me. I'll keep up with this post and keep anyone else whom may be interested in my experience updated.

Damm glad to hear you ok.
i know you have been waiting a long time for that rifle, an to have that happen sure takes the buzz away, of getting a new toy.

Nah, I believe they will make it good, it's paid for and we will get through this. I just hope it's right when it comes back.... Plus Scott volquarsten is throwing in some free services in for my troubles.

AIN'T gunna bash a brother, even if he is from the 2nd. BUTT!!!

1) Rimfire has been 99.9X% blowback designs.

2) 17 HMR has a brutal pressure spike and it AIN'T always in the same part of the over all pressure curve

3) 22 Mag is much more stable to create a blow back design for. BUTT!!! Ruger even failed to do it... because "much easier" is still a nightmare sometimes.

Best to you, Semper Fi.

I gotcha, well I'm no smith, nor will I pretend to talk like one. Lessons are being learned here with everyone's info. So let me just say this.... Hopefully they will get this fixed or figured out.If not I'll just sell the rifle and cut my losses.

AIN't nuthin' BUTT!!! math and fizzaks getting in the way.

If you ever show up around NW metro-Atlanta, I'll fix you some gator tail with/without remoulade and/or hoisin dipits. ABITA AMBER, okay?

When Volq makes it right, keep it. There's more prestige in flunking out of YALE, at first, than making straight A's at Georgia Baptist, sir.

Likewise! If you find yourself near Baton Rouge ill offer a similar cuisine! Semper fi!

Well it seems I'll be receiving my tf back today from volquartsen. They even threaded the barrell free of charge for my troubles. I'll be scared to pull the trigger but you can bet I'll be wearing a face shield.... I shall submit a report soon.
