Greetings ladies & gents;
I'm not new to reloading, but mostly straight wall cases, e.g. 45 Colt, 45ACP, 45-70, 44 Rem Mag, 9mm (for family), and WWII Ball for my refurbished Winchester M1917. I've learnt some about casting & alloys, which is mainly what I use for the above.
#1 & #3 sons are 'taunting' me to get into the AR platform, as they are setting up for some "friendly" intramural 6.5 CM competition. I agreed instead, to mentor where I could, but load .308 Win. for us/them/grndsons. I use Dillon presses. I don't see why my 550B couldn't be used here for .308, but I'll reserve judgement based upon your input.
I've read & heard precautions re: home brew cartridges for these semi-auto thunder sticks. I'm here to learn to produce safe reliable ammo. .308 for hunting is not off the table, but not in the picture at this time.
My concerns at this time: die sets to avoid; to use; resizing issues & crimping goals.
Thanks much, in advance
