Just curious if any South Carolina members got their hands on the new Walther PDP? I’ve checked a couple of places with no luck. I want to get my hands on the compact model.

Don't live in SC zip code, but did pick one today as a matter of fact. Feels good in the hand, same profile as the PPQM2 except wider! thus PPQM2 holsters will not fit the PDP. Not a fan boy of the PPQM2 necessarily, but have 10K rounds thru this one with customized RTS rear sights. The magazines of the PDP will fit in the PPQ, but NOT vise versa. Plan on mounting a Leupold DPP 2.5 MOA after I get the adapter plate from Walther. Grip has a nicer texture than the PPQ to which I added grip tapes. Also the PPQ was plagued by magazine drops when establishing a strong 2-hand grip (same with Sig P320) after they inexplicably changed from a paddle style magazine release (ala HK) to the cross magazine release style; noted that the PDP has a restriction detent to prevent easy release of the magazine, report on that after range use (note I changed the mag release to the right side to deal with the issue). So, a Safariland GLS style holster to accommodate the optic mounting will be in order. Walther describes the slide cocking serrations as a change from the PPQ (subterranean) to SuperTerrain serrations, I like them. Has several back strap alternatives to use. I like the 18 round std magazines. The PPQM2 arguably has the best factor striker trigger out of the box, this one is designed modestly differently and feels even better dry firing. I paid $669 at my LGS (it was their first PDP inventory) , several hundred $$ less than GunBroker which I almost pulled the switch on this morning, so be on look out for local good deals. Interesting the mfg. chose to not emblazen the slide with the PDP model name. The front of the trigger guard with serrations continues to be ergonomic / functional nonsense, don't understand why mfg.s continue to promulgate the style. Finally, the mfg. used Torx screws to secure their optic mounting plate cover, Amen.

Interesting pistol - @strikeeagle1 do you happen to know if the frames are serialized, or do they use an FCU-style setup?
I’m glad to see lgs are gouging folks like gun broker. Can’t wait to get my hands on one. Only downside I see is if you plan running a holosun 509T is doesn’t come with a plate, you have to buy one through CHPW and it’s like $125 I think.

Yea I noticed that too but on their IG live Q & A the other day that’s what they mentioned.
^^I incorrectly stated the PDP has a serialized frame.....My barrel has a matching serial # to the slide, I do not see any serial # on the frame.
The classic Sig P series have triple matching serial #'s.
So, the PDP frame is not the firearm registry; don't understand how / why the slide would be serialized except for inventory; the barrel itself is capable of firing an explosive projectile (kind of like an old school zip gun).
In Florida its odd ball law that a suppressor is categorized as a firearm as the device itself is capable of firing an explosive projectile; concealing a suppressor on ones self without a carry permit would be violating the concealed weapons law. The barrel is not considered a firearm in Florida.
The modularity feature of the PDP would then have to require paperwork for purchasing various slide / barrel combinations ?

serial # is staring one in the face when you aim the gun. Yikes.
I like Walthers, I really do. They've just done supremely confusing and irrational things in the contemporary marketplace... like defensive guns with single-sided thumb safeties, and over-SKU-ing otherwise simple, modular designs. They are kind of like the SAAB (from when they produced cars) of the handgun world... fantastic performance, but really bizarre quirks.
Here's a Level 1 Safariland GLS Pro-fit holster that I will use in a QLS drop leg rig until their RDS holsters are available.
I really like the look of this and I like Walthers very much. The P99 still remains one of my favorites. This one seems to be a step up from the PPQ in the looks department and is optics ready. Can’t wait to hear what shooters have to say about this own.
Went to three local shops here in GA and they didn’t have it. Said they haven’t received their order yet. Asked if I wanted to be put on a list and I declined. I just said I wanted to see it first. They all said it would be MSRP as far as pricing goes.
Just an FYI. Northwest Armory has both full size (4.5" and 4") as well as 4" compact in stock all day and still do right now if you don't mind ordering online. Good luck!

Adapter plate for Leupold Delta Point Pro arrived in Monday mail.
First range session today to get the Leupold DPP on paper . I need to try some different ammo in the coming weeks and get it dialed in better for what I most likely will be in the magazine for shooting steel on the range
Used Remington Range 115 gr ball ammo. I thought the groups should be tighter even with inexpensive ammo.
PSA - the torx screws from the factory that are used to hold the polymer plate cover are $hit. Stripped the moment the slightest torque was applied on installation; a couple of minutes to extract the stripped torx head; only used trusted torx fasteners after that calamity, M3 x 6 mm to secure the plate to the slide, M4 x 16 mm to secure optic to the adapter plate. The GrabIt micro brand of fastener extractors are awesome, always have a selection on hand.

^^ I most commonly get fasteners @ McMaster-Carr on line, ~ $7 per 50 / 100 and usually arrive in 1-2 days.

At the range with some different ammo.
These three seemed to be about as good as it's going to get with a stock barrel.

Nice! Speer lawman has been my favorite ammo in my last 4 handguns. It's consistently the best. It's also very hard to find right. The PDP was supposed to get to my FFL on Thursday but tracking just says running late with no actual updates since then so my fiance and I are getting a little nervous
