Gunsmithing Want to go from 338lm to 338lmi

I have two rifles that I would like to change over to the Improved version of the 338LM. I also want to have the barrels fluted and recoated.
I live in Central and would be willing to drive up to 500 miles to a good smith, I don't know of any around here.

I hope you all can give me some recommendations. I will ship them out if that is the only option.

What "improvement" are looking for? the Ackley improved version will require to have the barrel set back and rechambered a little bit as the headspace on the Ackley is a little bit shorter.

Personaly I'd sent them out to have the work done , it'll be ALOT cheaper than driving 500 miles their and back
