...or I guess an MOA/MOA. Switch to a different one.
I finally got out to the range with my new to me NF BR32 with a NP-2DD. This was really just a get the scope mounted and zero set kind of trip.
I've been shooting all of my rifles with Mil/mil FFP scopes for a while now, so getting on target is a matter of looking at the spotter, counting mils and dialing it in. In a mil/mil you look and see, hmm, about .7 mils low, bring it up 7 clicks, bang.
Woops, 1/8 MOA clicks and I haven't memorized the subtensions and didn't have a dope card with me.
Getting it on target at 100 with some M80 ball was pretty easy. Second or 3rd round down the tube I was dead on the POA.
Loaded now I went out to 200 and fired a spotter.
Looking out there at the hole trying to figure out, how far up do I need to move that? Is that 2 1/2 or 3 inches, hmm...so ~ 4 clicks/inch at 200, bring it up 10 and see where it is?
I really like the scope and I'm sure it is going to be nice for long range target shooting, but the first couple of hours really made me appreciate the mil/mil setups on my other rifles.
