I was settled on the warhammer to be used with the spike camp duffle but now I am thinking about the blue widow or mystery ranch metcalf. I will be using it for back country bivy camp elk hunting. The blue widow looks nice but I have read the poly board style frame of the blue widow is not as comfortable as the frame style on the warhammer. Is the mystery ranch so much better that it is worth the extra $250? Thanks guys!

The MR METCALF has a ton of features and options. Very versatile. This is the pack I was going to get for hunting but couldn't pass on the Kifaru Timberline when the OD green ones sold for $399 or something like that. I have a couple Mystery Ranch Packs and a Kifaru. All serve different purposes and the build quality is superb on both. If you go MR or Kifaru you're getting a pack made in AMERICA. They do cost more but will most likely last longer, helps the local economy and I'd imagine if your pack breaks/tears they'll fix it for you.

My next pack might be a Stone Glacier. I won't get one unless I get into sheep hunting so we'll see.
